I put this in another thread but felt it may be useful info here. I'd hate for someone to go there with the intention of dining at the buffet and it is closed. This was always a must stop for my wife and I.

    From LVA
"We just learned via an LVA reader (and confirmed with the property), that November 8 marks the last day for the Rio's Village Seafood Buffet, the only one of its kind in Las Vegas. As of that date, the seafood-only concept will be merged into the regular Carnival World Buffet and be available as a premium "upgrade" option for an as-yet undisclosed price. What's in store for the space currently occupied by the Seafood Buffet, which is located in the Masquerade Tower, also has yet to be announced."

Do you think it will be just a station, It cannot be as big as what is over in it's original locations.

Just as well the place is closing its doors. By its very nature, all Vegas buffets overcook their seafood and RIO was one of the biggest offenders.

Agreed. In my opinion, this is NOT a buffet closure to be mourning over.

The regular buffet at the Rio isn't much better either, when compared to it's former glory days.

Then again, you can say that about so many aspects of Vegas, compared to 25 yrs ago.
