Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong section, as it does not relate specifically to casino gaming in Las Vegas, but I wasn't sure where else it could go.

This is mainly a question for those in the UK and Ireland.

I loved playing jacks or better video poker in las vegas, and I know that the betting websites here e.g. betfair, paddy power, sky vegas offer these games on their sites.

Does anyone know which of these have the best pay tables, or which most resemble the bar top video poker machines that are every where in Las Vegas?

    Thanks!

Thanks, but I'm looking for one to play for money.

I guess I'll just go through each of the sites one by one myself, but was just hoping someone here would know. I can update the forum with my findings.

After having played on quite a few you have to check every win and not just like the 9/6 on JoB because some are pro rata on the royal flush for 1 coin and not 5 coins and other peculiar amounts. You may need to use something like winpoker and put in the wins for each one. Then you can work out what percentage they are. A lot of them don't relate exactly to the paytables in Vegas. The Ultimate Video Poker Pocket Book by Chris Newman (on UK Amazon) gives a lot of the different paytables for all the different games. You may find one in there to match what the UK sites offer to make it easier. Don't just check the main ones like the 4oak or full house or flush because some are very sneaky and have lower wins for things you may not expect. I've played on Virgin, Sky and Slots Magic and then used Winpoker App to put in the paytables and then checked on the correct strategy with the practise and strategy on that. Beware though because at first glance some seem like they are good but then they aren't. If you look at the pays on each site and game it should say somewhere what the payback percentage is so you don't even have to work it out. Mostly it's all there, it's just knowing where to find it. All the ones I've played on are random just like the Vegas ones. Just ensure you play on main sites and nothing obscure. Slots Magic is owned by WMS so is quite good. Virgin and Sky I'm pretty certain can be trusted too. Let me know if there's anything specific you want an answer to. One thing, you can limit yourself to daily amounts but Slots Magic are bad in that if you win and withdraw that withdrawal has to be unwithdrawn before you can deposit again. That is, you can't instantly bank a win. Very annoying and I closed my account because of that. For instance if you allow £20 a day, win £100 and withdraw it, you have to have that £100 again and then you have another £20 on top and so can spend £120 the next day. That didn't work for me. I don't have the willpower, lol. Hope that helps a bit.

    Thanks for that Corinne!
I have an account with betfair and paddy power for sports bets, so was going to try their sites first.

For online games, you should be able to find 9/6 Jacks at some online casinos. Think Bovada still offers it.

However, I would like to caution you about the convenience of online gambling. I spent way too much of my time back when I could play online poker for real money. I played nearly every day for 6 years. [emoji15]

I found 9/6 too but some other pays were out of sync so not tru 9/6 paytables. I also played a lot and have now banned myself from all the ones I enjoyed playing. Tring is right, beware, it's easy to lose a lot unless you have a lot more willpower than I had. Play for fun is the best bet and practise for when you're in Vegas. It's much easier to control ther and you find that when you are just depositing from a bank account it feels like Monopoly money and isn't real. I was putting in hundreds and even thousands, sometimes winning a lot but no way would I have fed a whole load of £50 notes into a video poker actual machine. Weird!!!, Also beware receiving bonuses on deposits. You can't withdraw until the whole lot is cycled through at least 30 times and you never win after all that play. Hit and run is the only way and only get bonuses when there isn't any playthrough attached which is rare.
