Leaving in 3 days. Wondering where on the strip can I play VP at the bar and drink for free without waiting for a drink ticket? Hearing this is a new trend to wait for a drink ticket. Dislike it.

CET, MGM, and Cosmo have all gone to some type of ticket/light system for bartop VP, and Wynncore doesn't comp drinks at the bar, period. I'm not sure about Venetian and Palazzo.

Other on strip options might be TI, Trop, Casino Royale, although I can't 100% confirm one way or the other....perhaps others can.

If you really playing, not a problem to get drinks.
Personally I believe the ticket systems are better than green/red light systems, because you can save the tickets for later use.

I play at quarter level max bet VP. If you are playing at a regular pace you should not have to worry about being comped for your drinks unless you are ordering something of a premium drink selection. I did notice on my Cosmo drink coupon that it was good for only two hours after being printed. I played at the Cosmo a couple of weeks ago and ended up with more coupons that I could use; gave them to a guy sitting next to me. Playing at the CET bars has not presented a problem. I usually order a Heineken or a Tangueray gin and tonic.

I drink FAST, so not sure if the machines can keep up! :p
I'm no slouch, but I had a hard time keeping up at Cosmo. Tickets came out about every 20 mins or so. Also haven't gone thirsty at TAG bar in the Linq, but it's a light system. Bellagio sports book seemed fairly responsive too.

Is the ticket system just at the bar? Is it also at the tables & slots? These casinos are really starting to pinch pennys.

Yeah, if you're playing a "regular" VP game (one line, no multipliers) you shouldn't have any problem getting more than you need. But (at least in my experience) the gimmick games - multi-line STP, in my case - take FOREVER to give up the goods. I had to go to my wallet to catch a damn buzz, even after the bartender took pity on me when he noticed how stingy the machine was being. 'Course, I come from a long line of drunks.

On the plus side, the two hour limit printed on the ticket was NEVER enforced during my stay.

Just at the bars.

One man can only drink so much free pop [emoji12]

Never had the slightest issue at CET bartops... extensive "research" at TAG at LINQ, Center Bar at PH, small bar by Nosh at Bally's, and Center Bar at Harrah's. I'm a simple beer fella, but drinks came faster than I could finish them with my normal flow of play. You would never have known there was a light or any sort of "system" in place.

I find that strange...because at single line quarters, you're playing $1.25...unless you're playing 5c triple play...then it's only 18 nickels a shot...if you're playing quarter triple play, that shit should be vomiting tickets.

Played at most CET properties and had no trouble at all keeping the light green. Played at MGM grand at whiskey down and had no issues. Also played at the Proabition bar downtown without issue. Bar tenders were great at all places played and were best at Ling casino 3535 bar where the royal popped up, whiskey down, prohibition bar and shutters at Rio. Bar tenders worked hard to ensure comp drinks. I also played at Cosmo which I like but could not earn a free drink ticket. :( bummer.

Played VP at Harrahs bar just outside where Big Elvis plays and at the Extra Bar in PH. Both times the bartender just walked by once and made sure we were playing. I assume the green light is on their side because I never actually seen it. We were served drinks fast and they kept them coming no problems.

Did Bellagio add a system there too at the Sportsbook?

I know V/P did when I was there in September.

Cosmo is time limited as well. You can play $25 per hand and the machine may still only give you 3 tickets per hour. I honestly think there was an issue with his unit if they came slower than every 20 minutes. I've read a few stories of people not being able to get a ticket there. Most other places haven't been an issue.

As for OPs original question, any casino that's not one of the major chains should have no limitations. I'd laugh if they added a system to circus circus yet. I'd personally suggest casino royale.

Also if you're a average speed quarter player, you won't wait at CET because your light will turn green and stay green almost immediately.

You're probably right. But the fact that it was two separate machines does worry me a bit.
