This is a pretty dumb question but I thought I’d ask anyway.

I don’t chase comps but I do have long keno sessions sometimes. Does the casino see this game as a slot play or vp play? It’s almost always on a game king type machine, but there is zero intelligence involved in playing.

Just in case I decide to play a whole dollar some day [emoji14]

In terms of player points, it usually depends on whether or not VP is on the machine. If it's just keno on the machine, then points accrue the slot rate. But if there is VP on the machine, all games usually accrue at the VP rate.

In terms of rating for comps, it depends on the player's club software. Newer systems will rate every game precisely (e.g. Cosmo). Older systems will take a blended average of the games on the machine. So VP on a keno game can hurt your comps at some casinos.

Interesting, thanks! I’m mostly asking in regards to making the next tier at Cosmopolitan, so this is helpful. Far more nuanced than I thought!

This is from my experience with B Connected properties. I'm Ruby so I don't earn points but I do earn tier credits. Before the pandemic at Young AT Heart Days, you had to earn 1 tier credit in order to swipe for perks. With VP play, it all depended on time of play and game played and denomination. It can take $30 or $40 through the machine to earn 1 tier. It's a grey area. When playing Keno, it took $5 to earn 1 tier credit the same as a slot.

Was that on a keno-only machine, or was it on a machine that also had VP on it? (This would provide a lot of insight about the tracking capabilities with BConned.)

For drinks i agree. When playing for comps or level graduation there is more:blink: than 0 intelligence in play. Isn’t there?
If not you just turn it into a giant Roulette game.....

We agonize in thinking it through. At home not such a strain. But we’re in vegas. A45103B5-D1D5-4ADF-B13D-1FF1EE71889C.jpeg AABBBB6B-2FBD-467C-B46C-3B98DA0ED31E.jpeg 0515EA2F-1B79-4A59-8CA0-C0018836B7C8.jpeg
A little introspection goes a long way. And it is a MAJOR move from pennies to nickels.

It might also depend on whether it's a recent experience or pre-shutdown. BConned was awarding $10/TC for VP in September, which was very different than the theo based TC that many of us experience prior to shutdown.

Good question. I was at Main Street Station. I think it might have been a Keno only machine.

Cosmo gives tier points for keno at VP level. MLife used too also but now it is back to slot credit tier earnings. This is info from the last few trips this year.
This picture is from Cosmo as I still play it there occasionally. Would have love some egss with this but left happy.:)
