Harrah's AC has new video game machines. From what I saw, only one game type was available. They had about 9 machines. It's a first person shooter game similar to DOOM or Halo with a handheld controller mounted on a stem. Sort of like a simplified XBox controller. You have to shoot these alien robots and your payout depends on how many you kill. You could bet between 50 cents and either $2 or $5. I forget which. Like any video game, there is a learning curve to get good at it and learn the controller. No idea how you calculate the house advantage on something like this that is so skill based. I played it once for 50 cents and struggled to kill 3 robots as I'm not very good at video games. You needed to kill 9 robots to reach a threshold to get a payout.

While the HA is very high for a non-gamer like me, I wonder what would happen if some younger video game aficionados gave it a go.

Interesting.. I would love to give it a try. I bet after a few tries I would be decent. My video game skill certainly takes its toll when I start drinking though :/
