I had the pleasure of seeing the Knights hold off the Flyers from the comfort of Suite 24, courtesy of the D. Several other VMB’ers were there with me, but I will allow them to call themselves out and add their own thoughts. Everything was done in a first class fashion. The stretch limousines from the D (with drinks on board) delivered us to the arena. We had snacks and a fully stocked refrigerator in the suite, as well as a buffet provided out on the concourse. We were escorted to the VIP area to beat a hasty retreat after the game. Plus, we were fortunate enough to be on the end where the Knights scored all of those first period goals. Since the departure of Timothy Miller from GG, this board has been without a D/GG/Circa presence. On the way back from the game, I helped Paula register her account. I am confident that she will be an asset for those of us on the board who play at those properties. The hope she sees this thread and introduces herself to the members. It was a great game with wonderful company, and my thanks to Paula and the D for a wonderful experience.
I have had an offer before to go see a game with them. Sounds like fun. Events are so much better in a suite with lots of food and drink. No lines. No price/sticker shock. Just fun. As to Tim Miller - he posted here and indicated he would start his new role on Christmas. No notice of that on his facebook page.
I was along in the D Suite last night as well, as a guest of another, more high rolling VMBer. As a giant hockey fan, it was a blast - especially for a game with that much action. The D's Suite is on the level just above the lower bowl on the VGK shoots twice end of the arena and is the closest suite to the buffet/Loge Box seats. It's sort of a cross between a behind goal view and a corner view, but lines of sight were great and it was easy to follow the play on ice even with the angle. The box has three rows of padded bench seating plus four barstools - seems like it would seat 16 easily without anyone feeling crowded. They had a small bar set up including Tito's, Crown Royal, another liquor I don't recall, plus mixers and beer. The set up suited me perfectly, but I got the sense that if anyone wanted anything different, Paula would have arranged it. They set up some snacks and dessert in the suite and gave us each a wrist band for the buffet in the lounge behind the Loge Seating. There was a server that was regularly checking on our box - I'm not entirely sure he was dedicated to only our suite, but it seemed like he was right at hand whenever anything was needed. No bathrooms in the suite, but there were bathrooms nearby that were never crowded, even during intermission. There was also a charging station with microUSB and lightening cords for charging, which came in handy for me. I've been in suites at hockey games in DC and St. Louis before and the suite here compares quite well with those. The experience in general was awesome. I've never met Paula before (I have a different host at the D), but she was great - very fun. The D and Paula took care of everything making it an awesome evening. I love hockey games. And not having to deal with the crowds and logistics made it an even more enjoyable experience. I just showed up at the D and they took care of everything else - this is definitely the way to see a hockey game. Suite Buffet Menu Views of the Ice from the Suite
