Thank you to all VMB vets -- and parents, spouses, children and siblings of vets -- for your service and sacrifice.
Happy Veteran's Day Boys and Girls. Now get that area squared away or you'll be standing tall before the man. Here's a shot of your ole buddy Dean, chasin' Kim Jong Un's grandfather (Kim Il Sung) all up and down the DMZ (2nd Infantry Division 1979).
A lot of the AC Casinos have freebees also, but that could turn out to be an expensive free meal.
To all my fellow Veterans, hope you have a wonderful day and for those taking the time to remember us on this day thank you!
This thread gave me the kick in the butt to find some pics of my Navy days. First one is early in my Navy career somewhere in the South China Sea. Second one is with a couple of my fellow sub-hunting buddies during some pretty good liberty in Thailand.
I just love all the photos! Any others?
One of the Army's less publicized methods of stemming the tide of global communism was to have sergeant Robinson wheel about the Monterey Peninsula at alarmingly high speeds. This proved to be very effective as, you will recall, neither the Chinese nor North Koreans invaded during the 1980 to 81 timeframe. What a beanpole!!!! I might have weighed, sopping wet, about a hundred and thirty five pounds! Max! This was taken at Toro Park, which was not far from Fort Ord (which is no longer in existence, a victim of BRAC). It was a favorite spot where our platoon would picnic on Sunday afternoons. 'Cause on Monday morning...formation at o-six-hunnert!
20 year old Sgt. Breeze at Phan Rang Air Base, 1969.
All, great pics! Hope to see more.
Happy Veterans Day!
