    My Trip Report

stayed for the first time at this 5 star hotel due to reading the posts on this web site. got an unbelievable rate of $119 per night, checked in on the saturday after thanksgiving and using the $20 trick, got a strip view on the 26th floor. this was a great view and of course a fabulous rate. by the way no one was on line to check in at about 11 am and got right into the room. of course this was due to the exit of the crowd for thanksgiving. used the back valet, much quicker and a shorter walk to the venetian tower elevators. as learned from posts here, turn down service was available upon request and did not disappoint. unfortunately, the table minimums were pretty high, even midweek so we gambled elsewhere. this is a classy hotel, the lobby, the shops, the restaurants and the personnel. if we did not read the posts on this site we would never have been able to stay here. thanks again for all the information to all who have posted. keep up the fine work.

wam, was your strip view north (TI) or south? Just curious, I'd have thought the Venezia tower would kill all the south strip views. Also, I'm surprised the limits were high, I thought I'd seen $5 tables there last time, but it's not like I took notes. And where did you gamble and/or have the most fun?

md.al, had great view of the treasure island from the 26th floor. i walked the entire casino floor for low limit tables and not one. i guess because of the overflow crowds from the very busy thansgiving weekend. friday and saturday the place was packed, traffic was at a crawl, took us well over 20 minutes to get from the airport, down flamingo to the strip. sunday and monday the place was empty. we gambled downtown, orleans, harrah's, barbary, even Mandalay Bay had lower minimums. still had a great time.
