Heading to Vegas near the end of March to watch the 2nd week of the NCAA tourney. Two late 30s dudes escaping our wives and kids. We gamble a lot, drink a lot and eat a few nice meals.

Usually I stay at Paris but a bit of a wrinkle this year because Venetian gave me a 3 night offer so I can stay at either for free and I can't make up my mind. What does the wise VMB community think?

Paris is good because the gambling is better. I play primarily craps, then some BJ and Pai Gow. Limits / rules for those games are better at Paris. The general location of Paris is also a bit better being more central.

Venetian is better because its just much nicer. Much nicer room, better drinks, fancier casino (albeit more expensive), better people watching, but a bit more out of the way.

I'm leaning towards Paris because I like $10 craps much more than $15 craps and the location is more central. Am I wrong?

Think the answer is what the primary target of the trip is... $10 craps with more central location, or everything else being better, albeit at a slight premium.

I'd go with Venetian, if they're both free. Then just budget a bit more for my social & gambling activities.

I think, since you have a lot of fun and like to play/stay at Paris, go for that offer.
Fun and the comfort of a familiar place can make for a good time.

I like luxury. I can't afford luxury. I would stay at Venetian just because...well, luxury. If the 'party' is the most important thing to you stay at Paris. If you're close with your friend and more laid back, stay at Venetian.

I have stayed at both, and yes Venetian is nicer, BUT! Paris isn’t bad and if your main reason for going is gambling and not the room, I would go Paris

Ain't that much daylight between the two. My favorite is Venetian, but the frau loves Paris. I like the rooms @ Venetian, but I prefer the locale of Paris. Proximity and all that. Exactly how much time are you going to be enjoying the room, 'specially since you're not picking up the tab for it?

If you like to wander, I'd go with Venetian. Mirage sports book is one of the best on the strip and TI gambling rules are good. You also have Harrah's next door which usually has lower minimum tables too. It's really preference though. I'll be at Paris the same weekend. Unfortunately, I don't think my Pack will be playing then unless it's in the NIT.
