I just emailed my host to ask about the entry into the $150,000 on Sunday. I am scheduled to go, and the tournament was in my offers, but it states I have to qualify for Sunday by placing in the top ten. I only went once for Christmas last year, but my coin in averaged just under 15K per day over 5 days in the slots.

I emailed the host regarding the stats I heard from the tournament people (posted upthread) and asked if that isn't the criteria, what is?

    Her next email was:

So whew, that loss wasn't in vain (well, all I have to do is win now). And perhaps it'll last through at least one more dual tourney.

Haha... I've chased comps before, but this one hurt. I hope to not put myself in this position again.

It's irritating that they base the pre-qualification for the Sunday tournament on trip loss, not on coin-in.

The one positive is that it's the top 10 of non qualifiers. One time I recall the top 25 went to the Sunday tournament, because 15 had already qualified.

This will be the first time I play the Sunday. Mainly wanted entry because of the higher prize up top ($50k) and the smaller amount of entrants, which I'm guessing is in the 80-100 person range.

The Venetian portal sometimes allows you to book online and sometimes says to call your host or Grazie services. With an offer I didn't want, I tried clicking through at various times of day/week and there didn't seem to be a pattern when it was available to be booked online.

Good point, especially since I already had the September dual booked. Once I'm there for that one, I'm thinking I should see the December dual pop up, so hope even if I play/lose less in September, I can still qualify for the second tournament in December.

Also good point, I really won't be seeing the fruits of my last trip's loss if I book so soon after. I don't mind doing the big tournaments, since that's what I'm playing for over the freeplay/food/gondola/gift. But I did book a $50k tourney just to play with some friends, which I'm thinking I'll now cancel and instead pay $200 to play.

Ha, I'm too cheap for room service. Heck, usually at my stays I still go to Harrah's to pick up my 4 drink vouchers and $10 food!

I just took a trip to the v/p and dropped 7500 and change on this trip. I hope this will put me back on the high roller slot tourney list.

Next dual tournament is the 9/17 weekend. If you're around then, get your host to add you before marketing catches up.

Just finished my first $250k dual tourney at Venetian, where you play the $100k on Saturday, then top 10 qualify for the $150k on Sunday.

This was the first time I pre-qualified for the second tourney, based on prior loss (see above postings).

I figured as fate would have it, I would get top 10 in the first tourney and wouldn't need to pre-qualify.

I was wrong though, I played pretty low in the first tourney.

About 400 people entered and top 150 were paid. My low score got me $150.

In the second tourney, 137 people were quailfied and top 50 were paid... and the top 50 get $750. I ended up getting $1000.

Having only 137 people playing gives incredible odds to this thing, and the first place winner who won $50k had a lower score than the other larger tourneys I've played (of the combined two sessions, usually 2.5m is enough to win first).

I earned less than my usual theo this trip, but also lost less. Here's hoping I still get pre-qualified to the next dual in December.

@JulianC I think we may be out of luck with seeing and booking the bigger tourney offers online now. Perhaps they want hosts to get the credit or scruitinize whether we actually qualified before for any of the $125k and $250k dual tourneys

I checkout today, but will do a final room charge for lunch and see if it's comped off.

In related news, the number of offers is consistent online across all account pages now. Seems like they finally fixed their hidden offers to be truly hidden for those who don't qualify.

@Cageet Just doesn't make sense why they would hide it from us. Not just the offers that we qualify for, but the events themselves. On the one hand, I appreciate getting less casino mail, but I still want at least an email showing upcoming offers that we can then ask our hosts if we're qualified.

Then when they book for us, it'd be nice to see it when we login, so that we know the schedule, the payout structure, etc.

Nope for me. Banner says 8 but only shows 6. I doubt I have any hidden offers since I barely put any money in. I’ve only been doing slot tournaments and freeplay. I wasn’t able to book my offers online for the longest time so I had to call each time. They said repeatedly I can only book two offers at a time. Then one magical day I could do them online so I did them all. I think it was four or five total. Then back to having to call for this last one.

I just got back from the same tourney as Maxev. I didn't do as well as him.
First tourney on Sat., I Scored below the top 150 (my first machine sucked). So was off the radar.

To begin with, I was disappointed at checkin as my "host" didn't lock my room choice and I ended
up on the 7th floor. I said "is this what Elite gets these days?"
I realize it was Very crowded with 2 huge concert events in town.
But we used to be their bread & butter gamblers, and were treated Well.
    Not so much now.....:nono:
This was the Lowest floor I've Ever gotten, (and I've stayed at Palz a few times a year for over a decade)
So I only played ONLY on Sat. inbetween tourney sessions.
Thats all my 7th floor room deserved!

Sunday did my kiosk checkin at Harrahs next door, did my FP
and got my last 1k tier so I'm Diam for another year. Done for the year.:)

Was able to figure out with the new Ven/Pal Grazie points system?
It doesn't work for me, I won't be Elite anymore.
I used to be able to do 2 stays a year to continue Grazie Gold.

NOW, I'm Premiere after one visit, but would take me several trips to make Elite.
I don't have time or inclination to do that.
So will take whatever offers for Premiere.... and Not worry about elite.

There's other fish (casinos) in the Sea....

The next Venetian dual slot tourney is Dec. 9-12, which includes a $100k drawing as well. For each dual tourney played this year, you get 1 entry.

    upload_2021-9-23_9-49-41.png

As usual (as of late, and frustratingly so), I don't see these bigger offers online and I have to get wind of the dates and then ask my host.

She added me, and also showed the requirement:
    upload_2021-9-23_9-57-58.png

(it didn't say what ADW was required, but guessing 700-799)

For the second $150k tourney, the requirement is a hefty:

    upload_2021-9-23_9-50-57.png

$12,800 single trip loss is double the $6400 previous requirement and something I'm definitely not going to be doing when I'm next there for the $125k October tourney.

I'm hoping it's increased just for this December dual, but except for the drawing, I'm not sure why the criteria is so much more. Maybe they expect more players than other duals and they want to keep the second tourney lucrative. When I played last time (my only time), it was 137 players. Doubling the loss criteria would probably get down to under 100.

They do still have top 10 placements in the $100k tourney will qualify for the second $150k, so maybe I can get lucky.

Hopefully as @Flowers mentioned upthread, and based on what they say about loss being "in the past 12 months," that $6400 loss I did last month would get me invited to all the tourneys in the next 11 months.

But not if they upped the loss requirement...

I played in the tournament this past weekend. I didn't hit the top ten, but I managed to get $750 in free play that I turned into $781.00. I asked my host if he could get me into day 2 since I was having a rough go of it, and he said that is marketing and he can't do anything.

The funny part is that I was about $4500 when we talked. He looked at the machine I was playing, and said, "I have already comped everything for your stay, and I will comp any other room charges before you leave. Just hit the jackpot and make up for your losses." No kidding, within 10 minutes, I hit the maxi jackpot for $4465.00. He couldn't believe it when I sent the picture. I told him he must be good luck. Naturally, I went back down before leaving, but I had a helluva time. I also hit Piaza Gold, but I am not sure what that will do for me.

After I hit Gold, I logged in and had an offer for the December tournament with entries for both days. Hopefully, my wife will want to spend our anniversary there for the tournament.

@maxev what is ADW? i haven't been paying much attention lately so it might be something obvious that I just can't think of right now.

Yep, Average Daily Worth as @Mr. Elite said.

Same as theo and ADT, but Venetian always has to do things differently from other casinos!

Average Daily Win (as in what the casino expects to win from players). In the literature about Grazie Rewards, you will see references to theoretical win.

@JulianC Wouldn't Worth and Win be the same as well? But yeah, I guess Venetian wants to phrase it "win" since it seems better for us players. Sort of like "gaming" rather than "gambling."
