No way we're getting on the High Roller with the crowds tonight.

So we're doing what G loves, shopping for candy.

I didn't know the "Ol' 96er" was offered at Benihana.

We all just made it back to the room. It took until the last night, but I finally got my first blister of the trip.

Lots of packing up to do tomorrow. No way we're getting out of here early. We're driving to Grand Junction, CO to visit my brother's family. I don't even have a hotel booked, which is not like me. I have truly done a lot of Vegasing in the last two weeks. It's time for the party to end. :(

We'll return to the Denver area on Sunday. Monday we have to jump back into life full force with several things happening that day. Ugh!

Goodnight, VMB! I'll update about Benihana Village and more tomorrow.

I forgot all about the Benihana portion! Can't wait to hear about it. You've done ALL the things! I'm going to need something stronger than coffee to match your Vegas stamina, well done!

    Good morning!

Boy, last night was the most crowded I've seen Vegas in maybe forever. It was a wall to wall throng of people. It was really hard to maneuver home last night. Very high energy though!

A Mariachi Band was playing and there was lots of impromptu dancing creating quite the traffic jam around the Cromwell bend.

Benihana Village was so much fun! It was easy and convenient to take the monorail there. Unlike my last recent trip with V, we had no issues this time getting to the Westgate monorail stop.

Main entry point to Benihana Village.

    20210722_182234.jpg
Sushi bar and seating on main level. This was the more decorative part.

Having been to various Benihana locations before, this one is definitely in a league of its own. Very decorative with lighting, decorations, plants, a waterfall, etc.

A group photo of all of us was taken when we got there, and this souvenir photo was given to us.

The place is huge and incorporates multiple levels. We were taken in an elevator to get upstairs to our Teppanyaki grill. We used the stairs at the end of the evening to come down. The multiple rooms and nooks reminds of the building The Melting Pot in Littleton, CO is located in. Both are neat restaurant mazes.

All of us squeezed in the elevator for the ride up.

I'm going to post food pictures in the next post.

If you read my live reporting last night, you know I was hitting the food wall while we were there. The portions could easily feed 2 or 3 people. I don't know if sharing entrees is allowed, but if we go back, I'm going to ask. There is a kid's menu for 12 and under, but all of the girls ordered from the adult menu.

    20210722_190135.jpg
J and I ordered Mai Tais in the signature cup that we got to keep.

    20210722_190502.jpg
V ordered a Tokyo Mule that contained sake.

As is typical with a Benihana meal, we started with onion soup and salad.

    20210722_191412.jpg
    Onion Soup

    20210722_192040.jpg
Benihana Salad - I always love the dressing they use.

It was the typical, entertaining show by the chef. Between the mask and his heavy accent, it was sometimes hard to understand him. However, the chef was fun, entertaining, very funny, and nice. Our server (dressed in a kimono) was super nice and gracious too.

Here are various pictures of the food being cooked.

This picture of V and J cracked me up.

    20210722_192814.jpg
H ordered Sushi. Hers came with Miso Soup instead of Onion Soup. The chef poked fun at her since she "chose" to not have him cook her meal.

    20210722_195745.jpg
V and I each got the Benihana Trio that included steak, chicken, and shrimp.

The Teppanyaki meals all came with a shrimp appetizer, veggies, and steamed rice. It was a $7 upgrade for chicken fried rice. V, J, and I all upgraded. The girls stuck with white rice. J and Sa ordered chicken only and G ordered steak only, instead of the trio like V and me.

    20210722_200050.jpg
S and N both ordered Yakisoba. It included the noodles, chicken, and veggies.

There was a lot of butter and salt involved in the cooking. Everything tasted good, but if you're on a special diet, you would struggle with what we had. My mom absolutely detests the flavor of butter, so she would have died seeing it added to Everything.

As I said and the pictures show, the portions were HUGE! We walked back with several to-go bags last night. No clue if the girls actually ate any of it, since we don't have a fridge. I hate wasting food!

It was no problem splitting our check in two. I had also been told when I made the reservation, that gratuity would be added since we were a party of 8.

    20210722_203933.jpg
My family's total with the included gratuity.

If you're looking for a special evening out, Benihana Village is a fun place to go. They kept asking if we were celebrating a special occasion. I just said it was a family reunion. I love how thematic the place is, although the Teppanyaki grill room was brighter and steamier from the cooking and didn't have that romantic charm and lighting that the lower level had. Thanks @carolineno for bringing this location to my attention. I'm glad we tried it!

Time to shower, treat my blister, pack, make a hotel reservation for tonight, gather the girls' stuff to add to ours for the belldesk to hold, and then grab some grub.

Getting ready to leave Vegas sucks!

Haha, that's a good one! We've got a few nights planned in October during our San Diego trip. The next biggie will be Christmas. 8 nights for that one! It will take until December to get my strength back! :D

Thank you! Wish I could blink and have the driving over with.

Sitting here at work about 3 blocks from the Melting Pot in Littleton, CO! I know exactly what you mean.

Looks like you've had a time, thanks for the report!
