    My Trip Report

The wife & I decided to celebrate our 6th anniversary in Vegas this year for a couple of reasons: 1) to check out the campus of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff (about 4 hours drive away) 2) have fun in Vegas! So here is a day by day trip report:

    Day 1
Arrived at Tampa airport about 2 hours early for flight. Did self check in. That worked out great and didn't have to stand in the big line at American Airlines. Checked bags and walked to gate with little problems. Flights took off at about 10:30 am and flew to Dallas. What a hole! This airport was narrow and way too many people. Didn't even have any seats to sit in! Outta there in 45 minutes. Off to Vegas. Arrived at about 2:30pm. Got bags and took shuttle to Dollar Rent a Car . Got car quickly, a Dodge Stratus. It was OK. I wouldn't buy 1 though. Went to Flagstaff the first night so I won't bore you with the details.
    Day 2
Arrived back in Las Vegas around 2pm and checked into our hotel at the Paris. Very nice. Traffic on the Strip was bad. And it was raining? in Vegas? Tried the $20 trick at check in. My wife thought I was crazy. We had reservations for 3 nights at $89/night. Lady at check in offered us a "P" room suite that ran for betwenn $500-$700/night but no Strip view. We TOOK IT! Got to our room, 2202P and were surprised as how nice it was! Walk into a bar on the right side and then into bedroom/living room. To the left a king size bed. To the right a couch with 2 big comfy chairs and an amoire in the middle so you can face the TV to either. 2 very large bathrooms, 1 with a big jacuzzi and the other with a big shower. Both with own toilets and sinks. 2 closets. WOW! Not bad for $89/night. Ate at Paris cafe. Blahh! Standard food at high price. Gambled a little. Walked over to Ceasar's to shop. Ate dinner at Bertolli's (I think) in Forum Shops. I've had better food at Olive Garden. Finished up night gambling.
    Day 3
Went to J.J. B - something in Paris for breakfast. Good but had a cold crousaint with ham & egg. Nothing to brag about. Did some more shoppong in Aladdin and gambling. Went to P.F. Chang's for lunch. WQW! This was great! I highly suggest this. Wife & I had two entrees & appetizer ( I had a beer) & only paid $36 with tip. Great place. Went to Commander's Palace for dinner. Awesome! Try to Tasso Shrimp, it's great! Bread Pudding was fantastic. Had steak, just great. Perfect service. Not cheap though, $160 with tip. Did have 1 drink each also. Went to "O" at 10:30 show. Sat in 200 level. Very nice theater. Good show but my wife & I thought Mysterie was better when we saw it 2 years ago. But, still a good show. Did some gambling. Did Ok.
    Day 4
Went to the Paris breakfast buffet. Had to wait about 20 minutes to get in. It was good, but I'm not much into breakfast. Walked down to Venetian and went through shops. Nice. Gotta love those smut dealers on every corner. Gambled some. Went to dinner at Aladdin buffet. Very good. This is my favorite buffet in Las Vegas. Never disappointed. However, I do think it was better 2 years ago.
    Day 5
Had to get up at 3:45 am to catch shuttle to airport. Flight left at 7:30am. No problems, but did have to wait at American Airlines check in line for about 30 minutes. Got to St. Louis for 1 1/2 hour lay over. Got stuck on ronway for 45 minutes because of showers. Arrived in Tampa no problems. All flights were completely full.

Overall a very good. Trip. Won a little money & ate a lot of food. Very cold in Vegas & raining. In fact 1 night it was 45 MPH winds. Hope to go back soon. [IMG]

Sounds like a great trip overall. Someone told me that going to Vegas in March is not a great idea because it is the month that it rains. I went in April 2002 and beautiful weather and we were able to go swimming.

Glad you had a good time. [IMG]
