    My Trip Report

    Vegas Trip #36

Luxor 3/3 – 3/8. Comped (including resort fees) tower suite.

Solo first 3 days. Sister in town on final 2 days.

Food Highlights: RiRa twice – love the Shepard’s Pie and Corned Beef! Burger Bar, breakfast at House of Blues. America Diner in NYNY.

Gambling: 5k Budget. Ended down $1500, not bad!

Blackjack and Craps were OK. Nice Major jackpot of $508 on 3D Wheel of Fortune (best win of the trip - love those 3D graphics!) A couple of good Buffalo hits too. Played a lot of Lightning Link (Vegas version), talk about a fun (and addicting) game! Played my share of the original Bier House at Luxor and Excalibur (all-time favorite slot). 3 4OAK playing VP, not a huge VP player, love playing it at the bar where I’m sure the pay tables are horrible but who cares!

Another great trip is in the books! If time went as fast the rest of the year as it does in Vegas I’d be 105 now. Stayed mostly on the south strip. Furthest venture was to Cosmo (thanks to the tip in my thread in the slot forum I found the old 3-wheel Wonka machine my sister loves!) – weather was great, rained on Wednesday but mostly sunny and cool the rest of the time. Spa one afternoon – when I’m done working in about 10 years that will become a monthly ritual, lots of general people watching as I bounced from Mandalay to Luxor to Excalibur to NYNY. Enjoyed some time at Aria – when I finally break my streak of staying at Luxor it will probably be there! Got back home on Friday – drive both ways was easy. Mentally booked the dates for my next trip already - #37 is just around the corner!

Truer words were never written. The grueling countdown to departure and then the hyper-speed time in Vegas. Thank you for posting your report!

Nice trip summary! I am also bringing a $5k bankroll on my next trip and hope to not be down at the end more than $1,500 too. Good job!

    Some final thoughts...

    Thanks for the replies!

Seems like I have a new sweet spot for how many days a Vegas trip should be for me... 5 nights seems about perfect, probably wouldn't do less than 4 anymore. Back in the day I'd do 2 nights, then quickly added night 3 as the "recovery day"... these days I don't need recovery days as I naturally slowed down the crazy drinking. I love the Vegas mornings - up at 5AM, gamble, breakfast, gamble some more. I come back from Vegas trips these days very relaxed, a far stretch from coming back and needing another vacation to recover! We all do Vegas our own way which is why it's such a great place, something for everyone!

Years back I used to wonder when I would tire of this place, like maybe there's a point where you are too old to enjoy Vegas, I figured I'd start booking other trips besides NY and Vegas - well still haven't hit that age yet, I seem to enjoy these trips more and more each time! Obsessed a bit? sure, who cares - I even left my bag on my luggage stand near my bed, afterall, next trip is just 95 days away, time to start getting ready!

Love this!! Obsessed for sure. I have a trip in April coming up, my plane tickets are already purchased for my July trip and the Thanksgiving trip to Vegas in November. And you think you're obsessed? And I fly from NY. :woohoo:
