    My Trip Report

After booking this holiday last July it's finally here now..... Bit of background before we fly.

Have been reading reports on this site for quite some time and have found them informative, very useful and if nothing else, giving me some ideas on where to go and what to do while in Vegas.

This will be our third trip over to the promise land. Last time we spent 2 weeks staying in the Aria, this time we are going to do some hotel swapping as we go.

We fly out tomorrow(Thursday) from Manchester, England but going to the airport tonight and staying over in a hotel, just to get the holiday started earlier. We are flying with virgin Atlantic. I have managed to collect enough points over the past few years to cover the cost of upgrading to upper class, can't wait . The first few nights we are there as a couple but others are joining us from the Sunday.

We have booked into the Linq for the first 8 nights, followed by Tahiti village hotel for 2 nights, M resort for 1 night, signature suite for 3 nights. Then for the last 3 nights we take a trip down to Laughlin and stop at harrahs before flying back on the Sunday. Yes your maths is correct, 17 nights .

Have tried to plans things but also leave it to how the mood takes us that night. Have taken advantage of some of the food vouchers from Groupon, travelzoo and living social and will try to fit them in with what we do.

I'm not a big roller by any means just here to enjoy your wonderful city and all it has to offer ( well whatever I can get away with been as the misses is with me).

Will attempt to do a live trip report but I think it will just make me even more appreciative of the time and effects your guys put into these reports, so if it goes quiet at some point I do apologise now.

Thursday plans, we leave the uk 11:45 am. It's roughly a 10 1/4 hour flight and we are expected in at 14:00 Vegas time (around 22:00 uk time). It can make the first day very long. Once we have checked in it will be straight round to In and Out burger for some food. How we feel after that will depend on what we do. More to follow..

Hi, been having issues with tapatalk, it hasn't worked since been in Vegas.

    OK a catch up.

Flight was quite uneventful and landed on time. Through security and luggage was first off the plane so was landed and in a cab in 20 mins!!.

Arrived at the Linq, took about 15 minutes to get checked in, on the 20th floor. Room is decent, nothing flash but clean and comfortable.

Went straight down for a In and out burger, which was fab. Had about an hour on various slot machines, with no luck and decided to catch a few hours sleep.

Went back down to the casino floor around midnight, had a couple of hours playing various slots, some small wins but again nothing substantial and called it a day.

Up at 5am, usually takes a day or 2 to adjust. Decided to hit the gym at 6. The gym has got the basics nothing fancy but did the job.

Went to the local shops and did a beer run after that and then headed to hash house for breakfast. Very good, loads of food, enuff to keep me going all day.

First day here would be a day at the pool, stopped there till around 3pm, then back to the room for a chill before walking up-to Vince Neil's at Circus Circus ( groupon voucher).

Had the 8oz steak, very good and the cheesecake for desert, again very good. Circus circus is looking abit tired these days could do with some love and money spent on it.

As we was walking up we past some Of The new properties coming to the strip. Looks like they are making decent progress with the new resort world and Wynn shops.

Will add the photos after this. That will bring me back up-to date. Plenty of beer, sun and some gambling but my luck so far has been left in England, maybe it's on the next flight.

Edit. Still struggling to upload any photo. Will try again later

    Hi guys,

Firstly , really sad news in Manchester, really feel for the families, hopes and prayers to them all.

For some reason really struggling to upload photos since been in Vegas. I am changing hotels in a few days so maybe the change in wifi will sort things out.

Forget where I got to....... , please forgive my lack of attention last few days.

Ok on we go....On the Sunday we had the 24 hour open bar at American beer on the linq promenade, again a Groupon voucher.( I use a lot of vouchers, helps keep the costs lower and gives me ideas of things to do).We hit the bar about 12 and stopped for a few hours. The waitress service was excellent and as soon as one drink was gone she brought another over.

At around 3pm I have to leave the misses drinking while I went and checkin some of the family at the linq. As went quickly and smoothly and within 45 mins I was back drinking again. After about an hour we had visits from the family but as you u can imagine after a 10 hour flight they was a bit wiped.

Come 7pm we was well lubricated and headed back to the room. Was in the room about 5 minutes and the misses was out for the count so I went over to Cheesecake Factory and joined them for dinner. Fabulous food as always. We hit a few slots on the way back but again nothing special and called it a night about 11.

Monday we headed to the pool for a few hours. Just a heads up, anyone coming to the linq, the pool area isn't the biggest I would advise coming down by 10:30 at the latest if you want a decent spot, 10:00 on a weekend. After a few hours we went over to mirale mile shops for a bit of lunch at Lombardi romagna Mia italian a travelzoo Voucher this time. Really nice food, think it was a little pricey for what it was, wouldn't of liked to have paid for price for that. After that we walked the strip down to MGM and then caught a cab to pick up the car.

It's a must every time we come to Vegas, we have to hire a mustang. The novelty has worn off a bit now been as they are available in the U.K. but still a must. A silver convertible with a few thousand on the clock, all good.

Took the car back to linq, really hate that you have to pay for parking now, as if the casinos don't make enough money on you already they have to think of other ways to rob you off your hard earned dollar!!!. Once back at the casino we had a quite evening, a bit of 3 card , slots, and again no luck. I have never had a run like this before, not in Vegas, but I know it won't last for ever.

On the Tuesday we planned to do some sight seeing. We travelled out to red rock casino, then onto the national park. Spent a few hours sight seeing and had a picnic at the park, lovely day. Later in the day we carried on to mount charleston . There was a nice Christmas shop at the top of mount charlston but it's not there now unfortunately, so we headed back down the mountain and stopped for a beer at the hotel. Weird coming out of central Vegas at 38 degrees and seeing snow still on the mountain tops.

We got back down to the strip about 6pm and we are off to zombie burlesque this evening, so by the time we come out we might call it a night but will see how it goes.

For some reason, I always have problems with the WiFi at the Linq. It's the one thing I dislike about the place.

Ended up just doing abit of a casino crawl back to linq after the zombie show. Found the show entertaining if not a bit strange. The host picked on a few people in the audience so if that's not your thing either get seats well away from the stage or avoid the show.

Today has been a lazy one again. A few hours around the pool in the morning then went over to the north shopping mall. The Michael kors shop is a fav of the misses, and to be fair I don't mind. The prices are sooooooo much cheaper than the U.K. It's worth stocking up.

Tonight we are at b.l.t at ballys for our meal. This one is a travelzoo voucher almost 50% off price. Very good reviews so hopefully all good. Will take pics and post later, when I can.

Tomorrow we have a cabana booked at the go pool at flamingo, there might not be a update tomorrow, :)
