F what other people think. If it's your happy place, then you gotta do it.

Most people can't see beyond the gambling aspect. There's a lot more to the place than that. First time I went in August I thought I would hate it because I'm not a big gambler. Boy was I wrong. Been twice since then and going back in May.

@janda - if you have any comps from CET, maybe stay at Caesars. It’s big, good selection of restaurants, big casino, great spa & great buffet.

I think if I was traveling solo I would probably not want to leave the resort but if you venture out...Caesars is center strip so it’s logistically close to the Flamingo, Cromwell, Bally’s, Bellagio & the tram at Bellagio can get you to Aria & Park MGM.

Think about what about Vegas you enjoy. Prioritize and tell the board what exactly you’re looking for.

Vegas is full of solo travellers thanks to business conventions, family meet-ups, attending friends weddings, people that fly in just to gamble etc etc etc, the list goes on. You are very much the norm while being solo. Loads of bar-top dining even at buffets and higher end restaurants if you don't like sitting alone at the table (doesn't bother me) or want to chat to a friendly bar tender. This blog is defunct now, but still has loads of good advice and suggestions; written by a solo female Vegas traveller....

I am older, but do solo several times/year. I would advise you to find a hotel with the amenities that you enjoy....a nice spa, pool or shopping nearby. That gives you some great "me" time in addition to the gambling/drinking/dining. I like a comfortable room (Paris/Bally's works for my wallet), as I like to putz in the a.m. while enjoying my coffee, and will take breaks to have a beverage while reading or watching a movie on tv.
Hope you move on to better days whatever you decide to do!

I (female way older than you) have done several solo trips, and I really enjoy them. Just choose your hotel carefully, taking into consideration what is close by and whether or not you would feel safe in the casino and the hotel (hallways for example). For instance, I stayed at Luxor once, and my room was in some weird tower where I had to go through a couple of long hallways to get to the elevator, and it was creepy to me, plus the clientele felt a little shady. I honestly felt much safer downtown. But I have stayed at most of the CET mid strip properties, and felt perfectly safe at all of them along with Palazzo, Mirage, Cosmo, and Monte Carlo (before it was Park MGM).

I think Solo trips are good for the soul, and it might be just what you need right now!

    Just do it!

you’ll never know if you like it until you try it. It’s not like you’re camping solo in the back woods near a cult’s hideaway

Any big resort casino is great for solo trips. Avoid hotels where you can park your car in front of your door.

Leave that tough crap behind and take time for yourself. I'd suggest you stay somewhere familiar if this is your first solo trip.

Have a great time if you decide to go.

Going on my first LV solo trip this wk and wasn't initially sure about it but now am looking forward to it. Im a little more than 10 yrs older than you but i've done lots of reading here and on diff blogs/sites and have a handful of places im already going to try and grab food at although im pretty healthy. As crazy as it may sound, i'll also try and get some workouts in. I'll be staying at my fav Vdara but its right next to my other spot i like, Cosmo. Suggest you stay somewhere you like and have been to before as someone else above said so that you'll be comfortable. I'll be there this wk and if you'd like to meet for food or just window shop which i'm 100% for, pls let me know and we can coordinate (im a female too).

Go. Do it. Take time for yourself.

100% of my trips are solo - have been for years.

Vegas is where I go to get lost. Where nobody knows my name.

I go solo most trips. My wife does not like to travel much, so we go together about once a year. I go about 3 other times alone.

I just find that I can relax and get away from work for a while and see things that I am interested in and she is not, like NASCAR this weekend. I say do it.

Not leave the resort? why? She did say she was there in December already so it's not her first go round.

No, It's not dumb... but a few extra "cautions" are in order:
    1. Keep your alcohol consumption well under control any/every time your are somewhere other than your home-casino.
    2. When walking at night, make every effort to stay fairly close to another group of walkers (mixed male & female). Try to not be seen "walking alone", especially as the streets become more & more empty.
    3. Politely resist/reject any offers to "walk you back to your hotel". If some guy decides he's going to do so anyway, do not go to your hotel - pick another one along the way, sit down to play a few hands, and if this guy followed you in, be sure to alert the pit about it.
    4. If you're using Uber/Lyft, be sure to check that your ride matches the vehicle and license plate reflected in the app.
    5. Do not leave any beverage unattended or out of your sight.

Solo is great! Majority of my trips are solo. I love having no agenda and not having to worry about what everyone else wants to do. There's so many things to do you'll run out of time before you run out of desired activities.
