I have been absent from Vegas and scarce on VMB for the last few years but as usual you guys prove to be an invaluable resource! I would have been completely blindsided by this if I hadn't decided to check into VMB now that I have a trip on the horizon. As floored as I am by this change, I'm very grateful to have heard about it here. Thanks!

Saw a Twitter post from someone currently staying at Wynncore that.......big shocker here........free parking isn't long for the world at Steve's place. Look to have to start to pay in the August timeframe.

Not surprising. When most resorts charge for parking, I bet the resorts who don't get flooded with extra cars and no extra revenue as people fill the garages and go to their booked resort...

They are forced to either charge for parking, or not have enough parking for paying guests.

So if Aria charges $15 for 4-24 hours and I'm there five days, that's gonna cost me $75? Or is there a limit?

Unless that last day is 24:15, then it's $90.

Thanks guys. On Aria's website it says it can be "conveniently charged to your room."

Similar to the $35 convenience fee I paid for each of the 3 Guns & Roses tickets I recently purchased. I think I paid to make it convenient for them to sell me tickets. I was shocked when I looked at my receipt and saw $105 listed as a "convenience" fee. Between parking fees and resort fees I think I'm paying more per day than I was when I wasn't getting comps/offers since that was before they started resort fees.

Question regarding actual card status and online status:
My TR card says it is GOLD status, however, when I look online, it says I am PLATINUM until 1/31/2018.
If I valet in Bally's, will it still be free using my current card?
(I assume I have to show my current card first?)

Sounds like you earned Platinum at some point but didn't get your card reprinted. I would imagine all you need to do is swipe your card and the machine will recognize your account status, but I admittedly don't have any direct experience with this situation.

Interesting question. In the garage, you swipe your card, so I assume the machine will see you're Platinum. At the valet, not sure if they can swipe it at the car.

You can go to the slot club and get a new Platinum card printed, but that won't help you with arrival.

    Exactly, Sonya.
I don't want to pay, if they say I need an actual card w/the Platinum logo.

I don't think the machine knows what card it is, just the stripe. I've been keeping my expired platinum card in the car for swiping no problem.

Anyway you don't pay going in, so worst case you take a ticket and then use your "new" platinum card to get out.

    Thanks Leepin!
I had not done any parking on the strip since the whole parking fiasco started.

How does it work for valet?

At CET, I believe you pay/show your player's card when picking up the car at valet, so you should have time to get a Platinum card before you need it.

So now it's only TI and Tropicana on the strip with free parking? How long will they last?

I find TI's Dollar Rent a Car drop off point very convenient. I usually rent a car and drive in town from SFO or LAX (plan a multiple day road-trip around it). Instead of dropping the car off at McCarran, I choose to drop at TI. And this time, I booked TI for my first night as well, then I move next door to Mirage and then to downtown.

Worst case, if TI starts charging for parking, I will go drop off the car at night (instead of morning), hence avoid the parking charge :)

A few weeks ago both PH and SLS had free parking as well.
