So I was just reading threads about lyft drivers etc... made me think about experience I had over at Mirage over the summer... we had total 3 trips to Vegas and had all limo services (platinum player but they did offer me limo ride from airports to hotel - hotel to mall - hotel to hotel etc) anyhow, I usually tip $10 to 20 from airport to hotel and hotel to hotel around $5 to 10. So with that in mind am I being reasonable with tipping?

Mirage limo driver drove us to Bellagio (which was like 5 min ride, no traffic) from Mirage and when I tipped him $5 I can see he wasn't happy. And it was same driver to drove us to airport and when I tipped him $10 then he was okay,,,,

What do you guys think? Obviously hotel limos were/are comped based on my play so it was free.

But it's not "free". That is why I NEVER take the limo from Caesars. The comp rate to/from the airport is $75.00 plus a $20 tip. Las Vegas is a town that runs on "juice". If you don't tip you will find yourself to be unpopular very fast.

$150 pays for a lot of rental car and/or food on the backend.

IMHO, a $5 tip was "cheap".

its $70 for the CET limo, comped if you take your 7* trip or have a good host

when I take the limo, comped or not, I always tip $20, except for one time when the limo driver forgot to show up and his words " sorry, I forgot about you" he got no tip, lol

Thanks for the correction, but $70 in comp dollars is (to me) still a lot and $70 less on the backend.

    Why, that's 7 pulls on a $5 slot machine (2 coins per pull) :p

I tip the el-cortez guy 5-10$ for a ride to the airport, one high roller who talked himself up the whole way tipped a dollar.

In March we split or trip between the Cromwell and MGM. On leaving the Cromwell they offered to take us to the MGM in there Escalade. I tipped the guy $20 because he was a great driver who was very personable.

We only ever take the limo to/from the airport. We tip $20 each way for that, and if they make a stop mid-way for us we'll tip more.

I'm not sure I'd mess with a limo for short trips (nothing wrong with it, just having trouble envisioning me doing it), because of how it would affect backend comps. That said, I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable tipping $5. To me, it feels cheap. Plenty for a cab or uber, but cheap for a limo.

The way I tend to look at things, if I'm acting like a high roller (I say acting because I'm far from a high roller), I feel the need to tip like one. That's just me and its a subjective opinion, I completely respect someone who feels differently - and feels that the limo ride was "comped" and therefore there isn't a need to tip. (That's my father, who has a problem with tipping in general and I'm sure he's on lists at many establishments as a "bad tipper" - I think that's one reason I probably overtip, wanting to distance myself from that reputation.)

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I'm sure $5 is far from the worst tip that driver has been given - probably on a daily basis.

i find that very low sorry

    thats a 20$ tip

if i used the house limo to get around 10$ , airport 20$ .i would never give 5$ its an insult. thats my opinion

Tip a house driver the same as a regular driver.

Comp ain't free, you pay 3x the cash price in theo and more in actual, just like everything else that's "free" lol.

While our limo isn't technically a house limo, the hotel contracts with Bell, I tip $20 each way, to and from the airport.

Thanks guys.... yeah perhaps $5 was bit low I realize it... so from hotel to hotel I'm gonna stick to $10 and round trip airport $20.. seriously do you guys think it's more reasonable? I don't want to be that guy being cheap nor a sucker either. Thanks guys for your input

The guy thanks me, It may sound low, but the el-cortez is not exactly the bellagio, you're not alone either, he typically has 2 or 3 different riders.

Next time i get the ride, I'll ask him what's typical(it's the same guy every time), I think I'm right in line. My room barely costs $20.I think some of you strip people have lost touch with the real world.

So here's an update regards to this last night at my local MGM property they invited me to hockey game which we took a limo ride from casino to game (I took family, total 4) ride took about 10 mins, when we arrived I tipped him $20 and he was shocked! (First I'm like shit!) he said thank you so much he wanted to comeback pick me up and after game when he did I also tipped him $20 then he thanked me so much... he actually rushed to open limo doors to let my family out got my kids more snacks from limo. So I asked him directly (I wanted to update this thread lol) he said he rarely get tips more than $5 ; this is Michigan most limo rides are from casino to sports center driving is less than 10 mins. So when I tipped him $20 and espcially on way back $20 he was very happy. I thought it was interesting difference btwn Vegas and Michigan.... but then again it's local casino people drive their cars we rarley use casino limo.
