So I’m a huge craft beer nerd. I’m constantly trading Ohio beers for beers I can’t get here. I mainly enjoy NE style IPAs, hoppy wheats, and Sours. I usually bring some beers with me in my checked luggage to start my nights with.

Are there any Vegas Breweries who make a good NE IPA or sour. What beers can I order while playing Blackjack at the casinos.(I Usually just suffer thru Bud Light BC I do t know what else they have) Are there any must hit craft beer places on the strip or downtown? Any beer traders on these forums?

Certainly not a craft beer expert but Main Street Station Casino downtown has a brewer in-house (777 Brewery) that produces craft beers for consumption on site. I have drank some of their products and think they are quality products. You might check them out.

4 Queens has a brewery also and it is quite easy to get a taste of various brews before ordering a full glass just by asking. Comped if you put some ca$h in the vp machine at the bar.

I keep to Downtown for the most part and haven't had a chance to explore many breweries outside of there.

My main jam while I'm there is Banger Brewing company on Fremont, next to Heart Attack Grill. It is close to The D where I usually stay and makes for a nice break throughout the day. They have a wide range of beers from their mainstays of Morning Joe (Coffee Kolsch), and El Heffe (Jalapeno Hefe) to their one-off (most recently a Blueberry Quad) and barrel-aged series. Their beer is always very good and they have a happy hour between 2 and 5. Their patio is great for people watching and they often have events going on in the evenings.

One of my favorite breweries, Tenya Creek, is just a short Uber from Downtown. Tenaya is a free-standing brewery that has been operating since 1999, they have an extensive selection of mainstays, barrel-aged and sour beers. My favorite is their Baltic Porter, but the Hauling Oats and IPAs are good too. Recently I tried one of their sour beers (can't remember the name and I don't have a pic :( ) and it was fantastic. They are popular with the locals and have food trucks most nights starting at 7 pm. I would definitely recommend taking a trip out there. You can see their current tap list at http://www.tenayacreek.com/our-beer/whats-on-tap/

Finally, there are the casino brewpubs, Chicago Brewing at the Four Queens and 777 at Main Street Station. They are good, but not exceptional and aren't going to have anything too crazy, although 777 does usually have a Brewer's special tap which rotates regularly. MSS and the California comp beers from 777, I'm not sure about 4Q but they will comp them inside the brewpub if you are playing at the bar.

Hope that helps, let me know if you find any good breweries in the area I'm always down to try new places.

EDIT: Also I'm not sure about other casinos downtown but The D (and probably Golden Gate) comp 805 from Firestone Walker and Stone IPA. I think they have other craft beers but those were the two I had when I was there last.

I’m actually staying at Bally’s. What’s the easiest way to get from Bally’s to Ellis Island. My wife is always sketched out when we leave the main strip or downtown area so I wanna make sure I take her the quickest route possible.

But it’s available in 172 countries. Funny, but Heineken bought Lagunitas a couple years ago.

I like to play VP and if I don’t like what’s on tap, I will ask the bartender what he can comp.

Walk out the side entrance and turn right heading east on Flamingo, cross Koval and turn right heading south on Koval.

The entrance at Bally's sport book downstairs (if it is still there) is where we usually head exit from.

Someone needs to introduce you to NE IPAs. They are strong without much bitter taste. Most have a pineapple or orange juice taste or if you like sour find a good fruited sour beer. They taste like a sour fruit juice.

I just found NE IPAs this summer at my local watering hole. I am more of a malty beer drinker as I don't like the bitterness of strong hops and I find these NE IPAs a nice choice in the summer when IPAs really dominate the beer menus.

Total wine and Lee's liquors are 2 big chain liquors stores in Vegas that have a good craft selection. I've stopped at Lee's on the way from the airport and have ubered over to total wine from the strip. Wouldn't say either are very close but worth the trip. Look for Revision brewing out of sparks Nevada. They are are doing a lot of NE ipas and I can say are one of the best around.
