It is feeling pretty painful this morning :evillaugh

Yeah it was a stroke of luck that they had booked too many rooms!!

Hopefully it's gonna be time to reap some revenge on Sunday

It certainly made me chuckle to myself and think jeez are we really that rowdy :)

As per usual best laid plans go to pot in Vegas...... We intended on having a quiet evening with a couple drinks and dinner, what actually happened resulted in a 5am finish to the evening and no tournament for me today.

We headed down to the Rio at lunchtime so the Crawfs could register for the $1500nl tournament starting today. He's playing it for a syndicate of players from a poker forum back home. I was going to play at the Venetian today but due to being in posession of no willpower and not leaving PHo when he did at I won't be playing anything :rolleyes2:

We had a stroll around the room they're using this year for the tournaments and I was amazed they have a room that is actually bigger than the Amazon which is normally used. The setup is looking very good and from speaking with a few friends things have improved again from last year, always good to see things improving year on year.

After milling about for a while we headed up to the main casino to grab a couple drinks at the Shutters and some people watching. We were sorting out plans for dinner in the evening as 4 other guys who arrived to play another tourney as part of another syndicate leave on Friday. We decided on a 9pm dinner at Striphouse in PHo. Not wanting to eat too heavily but still not having had lunch we headed to McFaddens to grab a light bite. We decided on the mixed app plate and had the sliders, chicken tenders and boneless jerk wings. Nothing memorable but did the job it was required to.

I called Rio the Paradise Poker chauffeur and she had just dropped a couple guys at the Rio so was able to pick us up straight away and take us back to Palazzo. We've been told that tipping is not necessary as the girls have already been paid, we've been giving them $10 everytime we get a ride anywhere though. We'd be paying that at least anyway and we said it would feel kinda ******y calling these girls up to pick us up and ferry us about for nothing even if it's laid on by the site.

Back to the room for a couple hours to chill out and get ready to head over for dinner. 8 is the final number for dinner and after a couple drinks downstairs we head up to the restaurant. A couple of the guys are here for the first time ever and were a litttle shocked at some of the pricing. I went for the 'Surf and Turf' 6oz Filet and Maine Lobster which was I found very good, not up with Craftsteak but a very nice dinner all the same. We shared an assortment of sides all of which were also good.

After dinner we headed back down to the gaming floor and one of the guys suggested a craps syndicate. We all threw in $50 found a spot and off we went. I've only read the very basic rules of craps so betting pass line is about as much as I know. We got off to an ok start and had our $50 back and there was $500 still in play after about 30mins. As the roll went on we were putting money on all the live numbers too, I presume this pays you out better each roll and that's how you spin up quicker but I'm pretty clueless. I just enjoyed all the cheering and high fiving everytime the roll was good :evillaugh

We pulled another $50 each after about an hour so had a profit locked in and still a nice chunk to roll with. The cocktail service here was very good and the girl came around every 20 minutes or so. After a few hours here everyone was in good spirits and getting pretty buzzed. The run came to an end there and we all retired to the heart bar for more drinks. A couple of the guys hit the slots and Crawfs headed back to the hotel so he could get a good nights sleep.

The guys who were flying home today headed off about 3am, at this point Paul and I headed back to Palazzo grabbing a quick nightcap at the bar by the elevators before turning in. I finally got back to the room around 4, checked my e-mails and turned in at 5. As seems to be the case I wake up at 9 and can't get back to sleep. We were just discussing yesterday how we can survive on so much less sleep in Vegas. 4hrs a night is a little less than is healthy though I think lol.

Today there are no plans for me as of yet, I've no doubt it will end up involving lots of Goose and Cranberry though :drunk:

Never were truer words spoken, lol Most times when I'm in Vegas I don't do half of what I intended two but twice of what I didn't really plan to - that's the allure.....a complete escape from the every day reality of our normal lives. I'm really enjoying your updates!

It's just impossible to plan anything here lol, I've always planned to see shows and never make it. Always plan to do the G. Canyon but never do. Ah well even with this it's always the best month of the year :evillaugh

Yeah I always get a little exciteable, coupled with a bartender that is over zealous with his pouring disaster often ensues lol

I've just read through and it's kind of like groundhog day though. The only thing that seems to change is where we eat :evillaugh

Yesterday was mostly a lazy day and I again woke up at 9am despite not getting to bed until 5am. I spent the morning watching the WC matches in the room rehydrating myself.

Crawfs was playing the $1500nl WSOP event at the Rio and the plan was to chill in the room until the dinner break of his tourney and then I'd go meet him for some dinner. This hit a stumbling block when he called me at 3pm to inform me he was already out.

This is bad news on 2 fronts, firstly it would have been nice to see him make a deep run for some big $$$ and secondly it means tonight now is >90% gonna end up another drunken escapade!!

Around 5pm we head up to the Paradise Poker lounge to see what's going on. A few of the other brits are already about a dozen drinks deep by the look of things and things are pretty lively. We had decided that we'd head down to get dinner somewhere at 6pm and then play the 7pm tournament. This obviously goes out of the window, come 10pm we're still in the suite and Corona has become Vodka Cranberry :drunk:

For a change it's not us that are the most drunk but the Paradise Poker staff who have been taking advantage of the free bar haha. We are now getting really hungry so decide it's time to head downstairs and pick somewhere. Paul one of the other guys suggests SushiSamba so off we go to see if we can get a table.

It's pretty lively there but our table is ready after grabbing a cocktail at the bar. I'm not huge on sushi myself being more of a red meat man but have to say it was a very good meal and some interesting dishes were had. I might not get them all as we were quite drunk, I'll try to list them though. (Just got the menu from the Palazzo website so think I have :))

For apps we had Rock Shrimp Tempura, Berkshire Pork Gyoza and Salt and Pepper Squid. All 3 of the dishes were very tasty and had me excited for the rest of the dinner. I almost forgot we had the Yellowtail Sashimi tiradito w/e that is. Just 4 pieces of fish with a jalapeno on top in a Lemongrass sauce. Not anything spectacular but the sauce was good.

For our main we had 6oz of kobe grade A5, again not sure what the A5 means but the server told us it's the best beef you can get. It comes out sliced thinly and you are given a hot rock to cook the beef to your taste. Also served with the meat are an assortment of dipping sauces to coat your beef before cooking. We also had the 'El Topo' samba roll alongside which was a Salmon roll and again even though I'm not big on Sushi an enjoyable dish.

The cheque came to about 270 so with a couple cocktails each we got out for $110 a head, not bad at all and I'd definitely go back for another round.
After this we headed down to the lounge bar near the front entrance for another drink. I was feeling a little jaded and decided to head back to the room, obviously paying the price for my early rising that morning.

Again being in bed at midnight meant I was up at 6am this morning. I guess I'm gonna have to start taking naps in the afternoon to get that extra couple hours lol.

Today the plan is to go out to Caesars to meet a few of my poker buddies I've not caught up with yet and watch the USA match. No doubt the start of another drunken day in Vegas

Nothing much interesting happened yesterday really. Watched the football in Lagasse's Stadium then had a few beers in the Paradise Lounge. Went to rail a friend who was playing in day 2 of the Venetian comp (something I should be doing but can't seem to motivate myself to do).

He busted in 17th unfortunately so we sat at the sportsbook bar in the V putting the world to rights and generally just chatting nonsense:evillaugh
Around 9pm we headed to PHo to hit up Pf Changs for some dinner as most of us were in shorts and too lazy to go change.

Decent enough meal and I think we had enough left over for a 2nd dinner. Can't get enough of the lettuce wraps though :). After the meal there was 200 left in our bar kitty so we went and put it all on red. It came in and talked everyone else until letting it ride with intentions of taking $100 each if it came in and trying to spin the $300. Unfortunately it was black and our evenings roulette was done.

Was up early today to watch the miserable performance by our boys in the WC. I would like to say it was unexpected but we've looked very poor all tournament and got about what we deserved :grrr:

A few other brits have just text to say they've just arrived at McCarran so the plan is to be sensible tonight and just have dinner somewhere. I want to start playing some comps this week to try and bink a nice big score to take home a profit. Given my willpower and inability to turn down alcoholic beverages, my participation is still 50/50. I Could do with loading up my bankroll to try and clean out the Wynn next week with BeeeJay though so will try to show some resolve tonight :evillaugh

loving the report, not sure I'll make it down to Wynn now as I got an incredibly tempting mailer from Aria and like a fool am taking their $1,000 in promo chips, and limo to the sky suites. If I had been in tower suites at encore I might not have switched but I'll probably make it down there for a tour sometime during the trip.

Not sure it's foolish to take free money, anytime anyone gives anything free especially in current climate has to be good. Be nice to make it pay and clean out a nice chunk of change with that $1k :evillaugh

I've not seen City Center anyway so I'll come down there or something. Got to be involved in one of these epic nights of debauchery. If I had made a 'bucket list', it would be on it :drunk:

Groundhog day again yesterday........ Went and met the other guys that turned up and the Coronas came out from the off. Most of us speak often on MSN but only meet up a few times a year at forum get togethers and poker tournaments. This means that things often get messy:drunk:

We started out at the bar next to Jersey Boys theatre, the entertainment was a little loud so a move over to the bar next to the elevators was made. I suggested we get a table for dinner somewhere and everyone was in agreement but we never got around to booking anything. Around 9pm I could see things getting out of hand if we didn't eat soon as most of the guys were on UK time making it 4am for them.

I wandered over to Dos Caminos and managed to get a table and only had to wait 20minutes. I got the other guys and decided we should start on the Mojitos which seemed like a good idea at the time. I forget that in Vegas they mix drinks so much stronger than in the UK, we just get a measured pour not a hand one. It's good as long as you remember not to pound your drinks, something I inevitably always forget :evillaugh

Not being a Mexican dining connoisseur we let the server pick a bunch of apps for the table to share and I just ordered a separate entree for everyone. That way we could just mix 'n' match family style. It looked like world war 3 by the time everyone had gotten through the guacamole and chips. We also had a flour tortillas with meat dish and some potsticker type dumplings all of which were nice. Once the carnage had been cleared our entrees followed and they were all very tasty. I don't often eat Mexican food as it's not a big market in the UK, it's a shame as the food is very good and a nice change.

The bill came in at 300 so the 60 of us left 60bucks each and headed back to the bar. I was really feeling it now as I started to doze off as soon as we sat down much to the amusement of the others. I guess the days drinking after less than 2 hours sleep the night before had finally caught up with me. We were sat right next to the server section in the lounge as you come into the main floor at Palazzo. Think the cocktail waitresses found it amusing too, I decided as I was intending to play the tournament at the Venetian today, heading back to the room was the best idea. I finished my drink and headed up just before 12 and flaked almost instantly :faint:

This obviously means waking up at 7am today though, still at least I get to watch the teams who are still in the WC playing their 2nd round games before I head over to the V :grrr:

Ok it's taken me until this late to return to feeling normal after yesterday evenings activities. I went to play the tournament at the Venetian yesterday and was done before the first break. So no boring poker related nonsense to be written about.

I returned to the room and chilled for a while before heading down to meet Richy and Denise (A couple from the UK who I've known for a few years here to play poker too). We had a few beers and at 930 Rich (Poker player) Richy, Denise and I headed to Lavo for dinner.

We got a seat out on the balcony and even this late in the evening the heat is pretty strong. We had the Sauteed Mussels, Meatballs and Calamari as apps, all of which were very good. I'm not a big fan of Mussels but these were really good too. For main I had a Filet and Lobster Oscar style with steamed Asparagus. I'm running really well this trip and haven't had a poor meal on any of the proper dinners I have been on.

All said and done the bill came out at 330 so we left an even $100 each. Rich was getting a little drunk before we even hit the restaurant and the banter was flying with the waitress who took everything in good spirits. She added to the experience and it's always nice to be able to joke with the staff whilst dining.

After this we headed down to the IP Karaoke bar to meet up with Austin (UK Poker buddy) and Scooby (UK Poker buddy). I never ever sing at Karaokes because I'm basically tone deaf. I do however enjoy watching everyone else trying to murder a few tunes :evillaugh

We got there and the first person up was actually super good singing 'Let's get it on'. His table buddy was next up and also very good. When the 3rd person got up and again was really good, I started to get confused as to what was going on, In my experience Karaoke is about 80/20 Bad to Good ratio.... Everyone here was incredible. It transpired that it was a competition with prizes so obviously everyone was after the top spot, whatever it may have paid.

It was great crack and I decided it was time to get messy and started ordering Sambucas for everyone at our table. It went downhill from there and I can't remember a great deal more about the events after the Sambuca started flowing. I do know I got back with a light wallet and was told I rolled in at 5am. Great night, horrible hangover and has to go down as one of the most fun nights I've had this trip.

Just off to Firefly at the Plaza in an hour for some dinner with the Paradise Poker girls and guys who have been looking after us all week. It's been really good fun with the girls who are hired by the company to work for them in Vegas and we've made some new friends with lots of local knowledge. Moreso than that they're really fun and good people to hang out with.

I'm looking forward to Firefly as I've heard lots of good things. After the meal I think there is talk of heading to Moon at the Palms. Not sure it's a great idea but I'm sure I'll have my arm bent and cave in... Another big hangover on the horizon I feel. :drunk:

I'm gonna be meeting up with BeeeJay at some point over the weekend for some drunken shenanigans hopefully. Also meeting up with Gino and his wife too for a good drink too. It's getting repetitive I know and I can only apologise, it's sooooo much fun though and I can't help myself :evillaugh

Another long and messy night yesterday which involved a bit of lunch at Red 8 the chinese restaurant in the Wynn with Lucan and Crawfs. After this they headed to the pool and I did attempt to join them, I managed to walk 200yds into the pool area this time. The heat was unbearable instantly, cue an about turn and back to the room for a nap.

When Crawf returned we headed over to the Paradise Poker lounge to say goodbye to the couple of ppl who were flying out and Victoria who has looked after us tremendously the whole trip. We hung around there for a few hours playing a couple friendly games to teach Victoria how to play.
We arranged to go to dinner with all of the Paradise Poker staff and the Vegas based staff at Firefly at the Plaza. There was a bit of a mixup and the others headed to the other Firefly location just off the strip. It ended up being Crawfs, Lucan, Victoria and myself. Not a bad thing it made for easier dining. The food lived up to expectations as it was delicious and an experience I hope to repeat before we leave.

After dinner we headed out onto Fremont street to watch the entertainers and do some people watching. After an hour or so there we all headed over to the Palms to meet up with everyone else that had eaten at the other restaurant. Victoria knew one of the guys running the door and we were able to skip the line and head into the club. It's 2 clubs connected somehow, I can't remember how because once again I was in a Vodka induced haze. Another great night was had and I somehow have a couple hours missing too. I left the club before Crawfs and somehow got home 2 hours after him......

I'm just chilling in the room for today as we have the Microgaming party tonight. It's at 6pm though so I might give it a miss and give my liver a much needed rest. I've got the Ladbrokes party at Tao tomorrow with an open bar and then a day/night/morning on the BeeeJay express this weekend too....
Could be the end of me :drunk:

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, I thought it might get a bit boring with me just regaling drunken tales day after day. I suppose it's better than boring poker stories :evillaugh

Yesterday was a quiet relaxing day on the most part I chilled in the room for most of the afternoon and did nothing much bar having lunch at the little cafe in the Wynn.

As I mentioned missing the party at the Rhumbar was a probable and that is what I decided to do. I said to Crawfs that if he called me an hour before they were ready to leave, I would call and book a table at Mix for however many were going.

It ended up being 10 of us heading to Mix, so I made my way to meet them at Mirage and we took a limo down to The Hotel. The girls loved the limo and I'm sure there are some good pics somewhere and I'll post a couple if I can get hold of them. (I've made a bit of a balls up really by purchasing a Mino Flip HD, I thought you could extract pics from the vids. As it turns out this isn't poss :grrr:)

Due to the lively cocktail action from the group and the fact that several of the party only arrived the day previous. The group was a mixture of Jet-lagged and a couple who had obviously punished the free bar for all it's worth

We just went straight into entrees due to some being tired and others just wanting to get in and out. I didn't want to be the only greedy one taking an app too and making everyone else wait so just rolled with the group. I had the Lobster au curry and it was pretty good. I wouldn't really call it a curry as such, it was a nice dish though. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes from what I could gather and including tip came out at $750 for the 10 people which is very reasonable I think.

A quick stop at the Mix bar on the way out to take in what is an incredibly spectacular view of the strip. The Vid doesn't really do it justice and I'm sure most people have seen it all before for themselves. I'll post it on the off chance some haven't. I think so many lights slightly degrades the quality of the pic, that or I just suck at filming :evillaugh

The group split at this point with the tired ones heading back to their respective rooms and 5 of us deciding to retire to the Parasol Up bar in the Wynn. A few cocktails and some reminiscing of the events of the last 10 days. Around 2am a few of the group decided heading to Surrender @ Encore was a good idea. Even though I was now quite loaded up with Goose and Cranberry, I managed to excercise some better judgment and head to the room.

I've chilled again today bar a short wander around the Wynn to get a few things for the room. Got some sliders and fries for lunch and some fruit I grabbed earlier. That should tide me over until we hit SushiSamba for an early dinner this evening before the Ladbrokes party at Tao from 8pm with an open bar...... This could be dangerous :evillaugh

Not sure if I can actually see this through until the 8th when I leave for England. I think my neuro would have a fit if he read this, I'll make it up with a few months in detox though when I get home :)
