My wife and I are headed out to Vegas this October for 8 days. We will be staying at the Flamingo for the first 6 nights (stayed here once before), and then moving to another hotel for the last 2 days.

We have narrowed it down to either Vdara (Studio Fountain view) or Caesar's Palace (Julius Deluxe).

What are the pros and cons of each hotel?

    Thanks,

    Tim

I've never stayed at CP before, but after watching Absinthe in January I commented to my wife that the interior of CP was the filthiest I've ever seen. Literally trash strewn on the floor in common areas, bathrooms were covered in urine/dirty toilet paper, etc. Granted, it was on like a Friday night at 8pm but I don't think they had any janitorial staff working. The atmosphere was great but it was overly crowded.

I don't mind busy but it just seemed like a total cluster-youknowwhat.

Vdara is the total opposite. Serene and quiet, no casinos, no smoking.

I think your choice may be between crazy or quiet.

The big difference is the fact CP has a casino and several restaurants at the bottom of the elevator from your room... Vdara does not. The view from Vdara is nice, but if you like to gamble you may find the place boring (while the quiet/serenity angle is nice, I do find Vdara a bit boring). It isn't too far to walk to Aria, but you do need to leave the building and cross a short street with valet traffic to get in. If you are playing at Flamingo I assume you are primarily Total Rewards? If so, CP may make more sense. By the post above, while I am sure the conditions can be random, the rooms are definitely nice and clean, from my first-hand experience. I would base the decision on the desire for the gaming or not, and TR vs MLife.

I've stayed at both and I gamble at night but I would pick vdara in a heartbeat. Beautiful room and easy walk to Cosmo.
