I'm staying at the Vdara on Sunday and I chose it based on the room design and the fact that it is only a 7 minute walk to the Bellagio casino, but the rooms are a lot cheaper than Bellagio. I watched the youtube video about walking from Vdara to Bellagio and it looks like a very safe route I would feel fine even late at night.

I plan to stay within the City Center so I am not worried about how long it takes to get out to the strip, but if you want to get to the strip from Vdara I believe you walk through the Bellagio and take the moving walkway out to the street.

I have never seen any shady peeps hanging along the walk. I have seen them on the tram though especially later on the hookers like to hang on it.
