    My Trip Report

This will be a slightly different trip report than normal, as this is a family trip over Christmas. It will is me, my wife and my 14 year old son. We are flying out tonight Christmas Eve (6 pm EST) since that was the only nonstop available and we were able to get our tickets using a combination of AA miles and Chase UR points. I usually fly to Vegas early morning so this will be strange getting in at night.

The first Win or Christmas gift is that we got upgraded to First class and this is a 767-300 with lie flat seats so that should be good. Only my son and I got upgraded but my wife is already in first coming home since the AA redemption was actually cheaper, so we each get First one way. The bad news is something got messed up with checkin on my son’s phone and AA took award certificates as pending and is saying I don’t have enough. AA support couldn’t help and said to check at the airport and it will be fine. We will see. So, we will head to the airport a little early.

We are staying at Vdara in a Studio Fountain View suite, same I stayed in last time. I picked Vdara cause it was the best free room / location and I know there is a King bed and Queen sofa bed. I have $50 RC and $50 FP. I also have an Amex offer for spending $250 at MGM and get $50 statement credit back, so with resort fee and charging anything at MGM to the rooms, I should be able to redeem that offer.

We have the following things planned, everything else will be ad hoc.

Marvel Adventure Experience (At Treasure Island)
    O at Bellagio
    Nathan Burton Magic Show
Brad’s Toys And Collectibles (Son is a Funko Pop collector and they have tons of them, and “good” ones)
Red Rock Canyon (CANCELLED DUE TO GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN)

We will have a rental car.

I probably won’t be able to play any poker tournaments unless I play ones later at night after the kid goes to sleep. I might try cash games.

I will post as many photos etc as possible, might be a little less frequent than in the past since with others this trip. I will have various videos but will edit those when I get home and then post links as appropriate, or you can subscribe to our channel. https://youtube.com/channel/UCGVNxsFc_uF0Nq1AR2Ko1iw

I am working today, but the office should close at 2:30 or 1:30 for the holiday. Thanks in advance for following along.

Let us know how the Marvel thing is. I am planning on seeing it when I am in town in a few months but want to see if it is worth it.

Son is really excited, it's a little pricey. Tickets are $34 per person for regular and $42 for commemorative ticket. I used some corporate discount ticket site that comes with our insurance and was able to get the commemorative ticket for $29 with taxes and fees.

Through check in and security, no lines at all. Check in couldn't really help with the award Certs so ended up just paying the $200. In the Centurion Lounge waiting for our flight.

Christmas Miracle. While getting On the plane they took my wife's boarding pass and gave her 6A in first. I think cause she is on full award ticket or the guy at check in did something. Either way ....

Looks like we got a studio parlor suite with a fountain view which I guess is a slight upgrade from a studio fountain view suite. The view is a little better than last time

I'll have pictures tomorrow it was way past the kid and wife's bedtime so they went right to bed.

I did have to call to have the sofa bed made up. It took a few minutes until they picked up and they were hard to understand but someone was at our room within 10 minutes.

I don't know about this being a slow time in Vegas. Strip looked pretty crowded on the way and Aria is jammed. From the room Bellagio garage looked packed.

Forgot to take a pic, Earl of Sandwhich club for breakfast. Wife and kid are still sleeping, I have been up since 5:00 just enough time to donate a $100 back to Aria.
