    Hi,
We're considering staying at MSS in August, and renting a car. Is the only Valet at the south side of the casino, or is there one near the front desk? I'd rather not be schlepping baggage through the casino, but will if necessary

You can temporarily park, provided a space is available (maybe 4-5 spaces), at entrance near check in. This is on north side of casino. Then either pull into self park or move to valet once checked in.

I had to do just that last trip to MSS.

    Enjoy you trip.

I concur. There is a row of parking spaces (diagonally) that is near the brick wall when you first enter the MSS lot (north side, near the entrance to the front desk). There are a number of parking spaces that say something like "parking for hotel check in". May even say that it's for 20 minutes but I have used those spaces to check in, go up to my room to drop off some of my stuff and then come back down to get my big suitcases. Because of long check in lines and check in processing times I know I kept my car there for sometimes more than 45 minutes without any problems.

BTW, if you want to self park, just ask the front desk for a parking pass and they will give you one which will allow you to self park in the parking structure right across from those parking spaces. Without the pass they may ask you to pay for parking upfront but once you get the pass you can park for free anytime by flashing the yellow pass at the gate attendant.

For me I rather skip the valet because the elevator to your rooms are on the north side and the valet is on the south side so I rather just use the parking structure instead.

Plus valet parks your car in the sun. We prefer the parking garage for this reason.

The little booth coming into the garage was taken down, as of end of April.
There was construction going on there and at the parking lot across the street.
Enough of a pain, because the construction co didn't give a crap about blocking 3 of the handicap parking spots!

I've always used the valet, because it's never been a big deal to roll my one bag down to check-in.
Once, I did have the bellman come, when there were 2 of us.

If I want to get quicker to my room, as I tend to go in and out, then I will park in the garage or across the street.
