    My Trip Report

For the first week of May I put together a family reunion of sorts with 9 members of our family. I had rented a home in Henderson but that fell through at the last minute due to the pool not working and also not being clean. I then scrambled and the day before we left found a home inside the Lake Las Vegas compound. It was perfect a 3,000 sq ft home with a huge pool and spa and was heated by gas. Our home base Casino was the Green Valley Ranch and we planned to go there due to a drawing for a Ford Mustang which they had on the weekend. We usually play $1 9/6 JOB and occasionally the $2 9/6 JOB. We were too tired to play the first night and just hung around the pool. On Sat I went to the Mayweather Closed circuit TV fight at the Mandalay Bay. I ended up buying a couple of tickets from a guy on Craigslist. The fight was great but I kinda wished we had bought tickets to the Closed Circuit at the MGM as that was really hopping due to the fight being there. My wife instead went to the GVR but really didn't get anything but entries into the drawing.

We also entered the free slot tournament where you play I think for about 5 minutes and if your score is over 150k they take your name down. My wife won $25 cash at that, no a lot, but something.

Then when nobody wanted to leave the house during the day to gamble I went to GVR on my own. I settled in on the $1 9/6 JOB but then went to $2 for a while and held my own. I then held King, Queen, and Ten of Clubs and hit draw and got the Royal for $8K! This was my/our first ever $2 Royal. When I got paid and instead of counting the money out they just handed me the stack of $100's. I quit and went back to the Vacation Rental a happy camper. The next morning I went to B of A and put it all in the Bank. The next night I went and played some more and played a few hands (very few) at $5 8/5 Bonus Poker ie $25 a hand. I held 8,9,10 and Queen of Clubs, hit draw and got the Jack of Clubs for a $1250 payout. Gave about half of it back playing hoping for lightning to strike but it didn't.

On the weekend we had a lot of entries into the electronic barrel for the drawing at GVR as did I am sure many people. Out of the blue my wife got picked and went up and spun the wheel for the Mustang. There were a lot of prizes on the wheel but only one slot for car. She spun the wheel and it went around and the wheel stopped in the slot just before the car. The arm had bent towards the car slot but just didn't have enough momentum to go into the car slot. She still got $250 so that was great, not free play but actual cash.

We went to the new Linq and checked out the Bowling alley and Ferris Wheel. They have done a great job on this place and I think they will make a go of it.

Had dinner at the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on the second floor of Harrahs and had a seat overlooking the Linq. The food was excellent and their Ribeye Steaks are the best. Our floorshow was the street performers outside down below at the Linq. There was one guy dressed like Kiss and another scary homeless looking guy with a sign around his neck that said "Kissing Booth" but the best was a really homeless looking guy who showed up in street clothes, took them off and was wearing a diaper and a set of white wings and a mini bow and arrow with a sign that said "Cupid". He looked like he had been on a one week bender and his wings were soiled and his diaper looked kinda full. He kept going into his duffle bag and drinking a beer or Four Loco and kept smoking constantly. He was quite a sight. Guess he was a "fallen angel".

For shows a buddy and I went to the MJ One at the Mandalay Bay. We had seats in Section 203 Row AA right on the balcony which I would highly recommend especially seats 1-7. These were good seats and the show was great. Not one I would want to see over and over like Mystere but one really worth seeing once.

Later in the trip again at Green Valley Ranch my wife was playing the $1 9/6 JOB and was dealt a Royal. The machine automatically held all the cards and started playing that music. This is the second time my wife has been dealt a Royal. I looked it up and being dealt a Royal is a 1 in 600,000 chance.

Since my wife got to spin the wheel for the car she is now in a drawing in the future where about 120 people will have one ticket in the barrel and one ticket will be drawn for the car as well as 5 $500 winners so I am told. This of course means another trip to Vegas to be in the drawing...

Excellent report and hits. Loved the pool at the house you stayed at. I have done well at GVR, though not that well.

Hope your luck continues on your next trip.

There's another "Cupid" that hangs out under the canopy Downtown. I thought they were one and the same. After looking at your cupid I must say the one downtown has a diaper that's fuller than the one you saw.

We stayed at Green Valley Ranch for 3 nights after our family reunion and were on a comp for a regular room. At check in we got offered the Tuscany Suite for $75 more a night so we took that. It was a huge suite with a dining room table for 8 as well as a full living room and wet bar. We got the host to comp two of the $75 charges off and used points for the other.

Saw this guy in February. Was amazed at the number of people, mostly female, getting pictures with him.
