I'm pumped for Pebble Beach this year. Having it on a familiar course enhances the experience!!
Put my bets at Westgate last week.
I always try to win some longshots while still cheering Tiger and Rory

Byeong Hun An: $5 pays $1005.
    Aaron Wise: $10 pays $1510
    Kevin Kisner: $10 pays $1010
    Gary Woodland: $10 pays $810
    Xander Schauffele $10 pays $260

On my 4 major bet, Snedeker, Fitzpatrick, Olesen are in play too.

If golf is one of your things, have a great one------- Jeff

Our Open is always a great watch and I so agree with that opening statement. Always better to watch the best on a course you've (at least I've) disgraced in person. lol

Might as well bet on the longshots. Corey Pavin won it, right?

Pavin was a consistent top-tier player from the mid-1980s to the later-1990s and was #2 in the world the year after he won at Shinnecock. 15 tour wins.

I would argue (with no proof) that he was probably one of the medium to long shots before the tournament, though.

He won LA before the Open, had won the previous year, won the next year, and had some overseas victories in the same period, plus played on three consecutive Ryder teams into that Open victory and a President's Cup the year before. Corey was a short hitter, not an underdog.

    Making some bets today:

Dustin Johnson (around 7 or 8-1). My best bet.
    Xander Schauffele (around 25-1)
    Tommy Fleetwood (around 30-1)

I get in Friday, so wont have any bets in..but i'd prob go with Bryson DeChambeau or Danny Willett for long shots. Rory was amazing last weekend, so i wouldn't be surprised if he pulls away with it. brooks koepka, tiger, phil, etc should make this exciting as well. Bunch of great story lines.

I'll be cheering for DJ since I've had him penciled in for the US Open since the season started in my one and done league. I'd like to think it's my skill (more likely luck and having them still available at the right time), but I picked Tiger and Koepka for the 1st 2 majors. Also I have DJ on every one of my teams for the US Open golf pool that I run. So hopefully DJ continues my streak of picking major winners.

I do not like to bet on favorites in golf since the payouts are small and not worth the value in my opinion. Generally I'd like the golfer to be at 20-1 or better. If I was in Vegas, I'd put $10 each on Day (25-1), Scott (25-1), Finau (35-1), Snedeker (45-1), Simpson (50-1), Stenson (70-1), McDowell (75-1), Oosthuizen (85-1).

Because of their stance on the US Opens in general, 2 golfers I will NOT be cheering for are Justin Thomas and Phil. Yes the USGA sets it up to be tough as hell. That is one of the reasons why it is my favorite major. I love to watch the pros struggle to get par and when par or over par wins the tournament. Deal with it! Everyone plays the same course.

Regarding Lefty, I was always a fan. But I lost respect for him after what he did at last year's US Open. He should have been DQ'd.

A big 10-4 on those last two paragraphs. Rory has some whine going to, though he has tempered it a bit better than those two pampered oafs. Phil's slide down the scale of respectability has a nice inverse proportion to Tiger digging himself out of the pits of being a total asswipe. And let's not forget that a lot of the grousing has been because some players didn't think they were getting a big enough cut of the FOX windfall.

Koepka sounded a lot like Jack: We all play the same course, play better and you'll be OK.

These prima donnas should go back and try some setups from 20 or 30 years ago.

William Hill. I like use their app for bets when I am in Vegas. Don't need to stand in line to make bets.

But you will need to deposit and open an account. Most of the downtown casinos have an WH outlet. But I think they have an outlet at Casino Royal or Hooters if you are staying on the strip.

Heard on VSIN today that one book ( didn't catch which) has a pool of 4 golfers to win, think it was Woods, Koepka, DJ and Rory.

-180 on no, +150 on yes
