Upgrade to CP from Harrah's is a no-brainer, right?

After checking and re-checking Total Rewards booking, I can stay May 14-20 at Harrah's for $260 or Caesar's, palace deluxe room for $393. This will be our first trip to Vegas....(ages 40 and 46 if is matters, finally getting married after 10 years together).

I had already planned on staying at Harrah's because I'm ok with just about any room as long as it is safe and clean. Harrah's apparently has karaoke, of which my SO is a huge fan, a small non-party pool, and I thought the food court looked great for fast food.....but when I was originally looking CP was WAAAY more expensive than now, so I didn't even consider it.

I think I'm over-thinking....CP is the better choice, right??

I can't think of any reason to stay at harrah's if you can afford the upgrade.

Upon checking in I would be asking about a complimentary upgrade to Augustus / Octavius towers we well.

Yes, it is the better choice and work the $130 difference. Enjoy! Agree too about asking for an upgrade to the Augustus/Octavius Towers.

I'd take it. You will get a lot more at Caesars than the difference they are going to charge you.The square footage difference alone is amazing. Palace Tower is right by the pool and not that far from a nice cluster of restaurants. Another upgrade to shoot for is the Palace Premium with the jack and jill bathrooms. They usually have great views of the pool.

If you can do something else with that money, Harrahs would be fine. Great for first time visitors. And many go back there time and time again.

Linq has recently remodeled rooms and as doing well.

Sure, Caesars is nice, but $130 is still money.

Just be prepared that Caesars is Huge and sits a little far back off the strip so it can be a hike just to navigate the casino, let alone get to strip to walk to other casinos. The Harrahs side is quick access to multiple other casinos if your luck needs to change. Just my two cents

But.. are all the rooms at Caesars remodeled? Last time I stayed there, got an ugly outdated gold-toned room, but this was years ago - so maybe someone else can confirm that you're safe, no matter which tower you get under "deluxe."

You want a pretty room for your honeymoon - congrats!

How you got to look at it is like this.. Is money an issue? Would you rather have a nicer room for $130 more or would you spend an extra $130 gambling or shopping? Ive stayed at the harrahs 2 times. A hotel is a hotel. I was prob in the bathroom longer than i was actually sleeping in the room haha. Enjoy your trip..

Also you can also play myvegas on facebook and you and your wife both can play and from now until may you can get enough gold coins for free food and or free rooms for mgm properties or use it for shows.. Check it out.. No matter what you do you cant go wrong.. Unless you go to circus circus haha

Caesars is worlds better than Harrah's LV in terms of the hotel, so you made the right decision to take the room. Harrah's is across the street, so you can still go over there for karaoke. It's really easy to get to it.

I'll go with the rest and say Caesar's for your first time over Harrah's and push for something with the getting married thing. Sometimes it works but if you consider many are down "for their birthday", "for a stag/ette", "for an anniversary", and not just to gamble, it may be hard to get an upgrade. Worth a try. I enjoyed the Harrah's bj party pits where everyone's a bit more relaxed. I'm an Mlifer, so haven't done a CET property in prob 12 years. Last time I stayed at Caesar's I left after 1 night cause they didn't get much sun at the pool (construction etc) we were all lined up in the slit of sun between 2 buildings....but...if you win anything...go to Absinthe. Top of the shows for me at present (if you like racy, rauncy, erotic and exotic)...but ohhhh so many good shows in Vegas to see.

If you can stay cheaper in a Julius tower rooms those rooms have been recently remodeled we stayed in one a month ago and it was nice and very convenient to casino elevator comes out by the cage the rooms even though they are smaller then palace tower rooms they are nicer than a room at Harrahs.

You realize that they are getting married, right? Caesars is more appropriate for this occasion. If they were just doing the typical Vegas degenerate gambling trip, then I'd go with your suggestion.

So you are getting married and the difference in price between Harrahs and Ceasars Palace is less than $22 a night? No brainer to go for CP. Also nice to sight see in the forum shops attached to CP. Ask for Augustus Tower upgrade on check in and if possible, the Bellagio fountain view. Start your marriage with some memories and don't forget to carry your bride over the threshold when you enter the room.

Keep in mind that $130 is a fair chunk of cash for some people.

Only you or your SO can compare the experience value vs. the money value for the situation you will be in. Think of what you might regret more after your trip is over, not taking what might be a better ambiance, or spending too much on what you get. One usually lasts longer than the other.

Given your situation it is hard to see why you wouldn't stay at CP. The overall atmosphere is exponentially better and you are likely to get a very nice room. Harrahs is now one of the bottom 5 strip properties while CP is no longer highest tier but firmly in the top quartile. Presumably, you are looking for a nice place, not a crash pad.
