Great news! A friend of mine from high school (class of 1982) just called with the wonderful news that he will be in Vegas on business at the beginning of November. His invitation included free lodging at the Paris! This is way upscale for me, as i've spent time at the Travel Lodge, Harrah's, Circus Circus and the Excalibur. It's a Monday through Wednesday stay. Big Elvis is definitely on the agenda, probably have to go up the Eiffel Tower and have the Paris breakfast buffet. What else should we do(besides drink and gamble excessively)? We don't need any recommendations for the big shows, but are looking for suggestions for more obscure, Vegas only type activities. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't believe that no one else has offered this, and it is definitely a VEGAS ONLY experience---eating yourself silly on $.99 shrimp cocktails and $1.00 regular cocktails!!

Been reading for a while, finally had to jump in and say something!! This board is great!

go to the Ghost Bar (Palms) or the Vodoo Lounge (Rio) and check out the great views. I'm not sure what the fees are, but I'm thinking that if you get to Vodoo Lounge early enough - before they start charging, but just before sunset you'll be OK.

The hourly show in the sky at the Rio is kinda cool. The indoor rain shower at the DP shops at the Aladdin is kinda cool too - besides that, the DP shops have live acts that go on too.

Play Tic Tac Toe against the chicken at the Trop. Grab a Krispy Kreme donut off the line at Excaliber (OK you can do that in other cities too, but it's still kinda cool). Grab a drink at Red Square on the Frozen bar at Mandalay Bay. See the Guggenhiem motorcycle exhibit, even if you're not a gear head it's something. If you're driving - drive down to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and take your picture in front of it.

I could go on, but I'm sure other people will have some suggestions too. I'll leave you with this last one - since you're staying at Paris, have lunch or dinner at Mon Ami Gabi on the patio (weather permitting). Great food, and if you time it right - you get to see the Fountains at Bellagio. That's always a favorite
