So my wife and I are coming out in late May and because we have a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old, date nights are relegated to business events or a quick bite to eat without the kids. So, in an effort to spice up our first of 4 nights in Vegas, I wanted to treat my wife to the ultimate date night but I need ya'lls expertise.

Since we generally spend the first day walking around, taking in the Vegas aura, I was thinking about first getting a drink with a cool view. How is the Foundation Room and is it even open to the public? What are other cool areas are there to get a drink with a view?

Second, since my wife loves sushi, what are some good places that have rolls for about $8-$12 per? We will be staying at the Monte Carlo for the first night and would like to stay within walking distance.

Third, for a nice topper, I was thinking about getting a drink after dinner so we can relax and people watch. Have any suggestions?

Also, if you have any other suggestions that are off the wall that you have enjoyed, let me know. BTW, don't think I will be able to get my wife up in a helicopter :)

That is not an "alternative fact" - is it?

    LOL.

Back to the OP... yes, you can get a drink at Foundation Room or the place atop Delano - Skyfall. Both offer great views... if you get their earlier in the evening, no crowds or cover.

I highly recommend drinks at the Mandarin Bar. The view is excellent, the vibe is excellent and very romantic, and it is easy access to the Monte Carlo. Drinks won't be cheap but it is worth it!

the Strat or Paris for a view. but seriously, Vegas is a magical, romantic city whenever you want it to be. me and my SO cherish some of the most simple places in Vegas when we are together. when you step back just a little from the high energy vibe and just soak it in, it is awesome.

Absolute must do! My wife and I did this last trip and we got there right at sunset and had drinks while watching the strip lights start coming to life as it got dark and it was amazing! Order your wife the Golden Leaf for the first drink! You can go to their website and you can see what the bar looks like and somewhat of the view. You might call ahead and get reservation so to get the view by the windows! Oh and tell her to try the wasabi snack that they bring you. But don't tell her it's wasabi! Hee Hee!:kill:

My wife and I had a Date Night this past Tuesday.

It started when she had her hair done at Original Diva inside the Miracle Mile shops.

We went back to our room at the California to get ready. We asked the bellman to take a photo and he insisted on including a friend of his in the picture. After he took it, we asked for another one against a plain wall, but he said that he had to get back to work.

Dinner was at NOVE Italiano at the Palms.

The view was stunning, and it was fun watching the sunset reflected on the other buildings, while simultaneously watching the city light up.

After dinner, it was down to the airport and a helicopter tour of the Strip and downtown.

This was a memorable time. It may not be for everyone, but it certainly hit a home run for us.

This sounds like a lovely, lovely night, and you guys make a handsome, happy couple! And I love how happy she looks....you definitely hit this one out of the park!

For the OP, you might also pop into the Chandelier Bar at Cosmo, no view, but good drinks, and it's dripping with crystal...so pretty! Though, I'm liking the votes for MB with that stellar view.

Whatever you guys do/see...it'll be memorable and fun....I hope you update us on what you picked!

Ps since you're at MC, Brand Lounge (within MC) can be nice to grab a final glass of wine and just enjoy a little quiet time with one another, before you finish the night. It's often empty, and they have some very comfy, nice couches in the back....so you get a rare moment of quiet time in Vegas to enjoy each other.

It was surprisingly fun/memorable to find such an intimate, quiet, non-populated (but still on the comfy-but-semi-formal side) spot within MC. It might make for a nice nightcap before you head up for the night. Brand_Lounge_HighRes_CMYK.tif.image.924.420.high.jpg

Yellowtail at Bellagio would fit the bill, rolls are probably on the top end of your range there but I think fit in the range. I would say Hyde before or after would be nice too. I'll second the nomination for the MO bar again this could be before or after. The fountains always seem to be a good panty dropper, and the views from MO should do the same. If you are there Memorial Day weekend our paths may cross. Enjoy!!

So here is my plan, once we check into the MC, we are going to go on a casino crawl, hitting NYNY, Excaliber, Luxor and then to MB. We really enjoy finding a cocktail waitress and putting $20 in a slot while waiting on the drink, then get up amd head to the next casino.

Once getting to the MB, I plan on heading up to the Foundation Room for a drink. After that, we will use a Rice & Co. MyVegas reward for dinner and then head up to the bar atop the Mandarin for a night cap.

As all things Vegas go, its a plan. We shall see if the actually comes together.

Skyfall lounge on top of Delano offers amazing views....outdoor patio on 60-something floor...and champagne toast at sunset. Chin chin at NYNY has good sushi...not fancy but prices are in your range. For after dinner people watching plant yourself at Pour24 in NYNY and enjoy the parade!
