I've seen a number of members talk about their experiences at these places, not sure if this is the main one that everyone goes to, or if there are a number of them.

Are these cars like drivers ed cars, in that the instructor has a brake if he realizes that they are approaching a turn at a dangerous speed?

Those guys have some serious testicular fortitude, getting in cars with people that in many cases have zero experience with that type of horsepower.

Condolences to their families.

Not sure how this happened, but isn't the first time something "stupid" happened because of a bad driver. I feel terrible for the families of those affected. In my experience, the co-pilot is very much involved in slowing the car down if he doesn't feel the driver has the skill. They have the brake and aren't afraid to grab the wheel if necessary. Sometimes, the co-pilots will tame the traction control or do one thing or another to let you have more fun, but even then, these tracks are designed to have plenty of run off and the co-pilots know what sorts of turns these cars can take.

I visited Exotics Racing last week. I was going back and forth between them and Dream Racing, I didn't look at Speed Vegas at all. Yes, they have a brake on the passenger side. I didn't feel unsafe at any point in the car. The instructor did a great job with me, it was the first time I'd ever driven a super car.

I feel bad for all involved in this tragic event.

I can't see a Lamborghini being fitted with the passenger side brake. I drove past this accident on the way home from Palm Springs yesterday. Sad.

Problem is unlike a driving school where the car is going slow, on a race track when the car has lost traction or is on the verge of losing traction, often the worst thing you can do is to step on the brakes. One of the first things they teach you at high performance driving is "when in doubt, both feet out".

Nothing really changed, they were gonna die some day anyway. :poke:

Why not? I checked out a lot of the cars when I was at Exotics Racing and every single one had a passenger brake.
