    My Trip Report

I'm going live this trip for two reasons, the first is because I've always enjoyed other people's live reports. The second is to get tips during the trip, whether it be gambling or a good place to eat.

The background: this is my 5th trip to Vegas, my first time was July 4th of '09. I'm a Venetian reject staying at PHO. I'm a midroller, my budget is 1K a day. I typically like to play about $25-$50 a hand for the first couple days to preserve the bankroll, then I turn it up a notch the last couple days.

I have a Sunday morning flight on Allegiant out of Rockford, Illinois. I get to Vegas at 1:30PM. The purpose of this trip is for work, the ARA rental show is at Mandalay Bay, however, I will be spending a limited amount of time there. I'll stop by the vendor part for a couple hours on Monday or Tuesday but that's it. I go to Vegas for good food and to gamble, no shows or site seeing in this report. I'm solo but I'll know people down there through business. There are several people from this board going down the same week, Iwannabeinvegas, hoya, chef, ronc, redsoxmom and a few others I noticed. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet some or all of you.
Well, tomorrow is prep day, haircut, bank, packing, etc...take my wife to wildfire, go to sleep, wake up and I'm off!

I'll try and take pictures along the way!

Have a great trip, I'll be arriving tomorrow, downtown for the first night then the strip for 6. I maybe at Cabo Wabo on Sunday or Tuesday to sing, so if you see a fairly big late 30 year old guy, shaved head and likely in black, sitting at the bar and getting up to sing, it's likely me, feel free to say hello. Sunday they have a band up there from 8 or 9-12.

Can't wait! I will periodically be checking in so maybe our paths will cross since we *are* at the same hotel. lol

If we don't meet up, I will be reading your reports.

I just finished packing and am off to the bank.

    One more day

Have a great time in LV. I'm looking forward to the trip updates. My husband and I will have to give the PHO another try in June. He wasn't too impressed the last time we went into the casino. I just think he needed another drink.

Nothing two exciting to report yet, I took care of all my errands yesterday. Wildfire wasn't as good as the hype IMO. I got the porterhouse with a side of oven roasted mushrooms. There were 5 of us so we got the pizza appetizer (which was great) and crab covered shrimp (which were just ok). The mushrooms didn't have enough flavor and the steak was extremely rare even though I ordered medium -well. Woke up this morning at 3:30 with a stomach ache, fell back asleep at 4:30 and woke up for the day at 7:30. My wife made belgium waffles, I showered and finished packing.
Living in Crystal Lake, Illinois has some perks, one of them is having 3-4 airports in reasonable driving distance. I usually fly out of ohare but I'm trying Rockford for the first time. If this allegiant flight is on time then I'm hooked. There's no wait, not a ton of people and all the employees have been really nice. I kept my cash in my pocket and walked right through with no problem. I'm waiting to board as I type. Next update will be from PHO!46 Airport Dr, Rockford, IL 61109, USA

Smooth flight, I paid for an exit row seat so I had a ton of leg room. I got to PHO and there were only a couple people in line at the main registration so that's where I went. I asked the guy checking me in if there were any complimentary upgrades available and he put me in a resort room. I gave him the $20 as a tip and he took it no problem. The view is awesome and the room itself is nice. I was expecting a significant downgrade having stayed at the V my past couple of trips but I'm not disappointed at all. I'm in the Dirty Dancing room and that happens to be one of my favorite movies. I'll take pics of the view and get them on here tonight.
