For the past years I have been enjoying some decent offers from the lower Mlife casino's (Luxor/Excalibur) and some decent Mlife corporate offers (in my view, I am from Europe, so used to pay for everything). I am mainly a poker player, so I am a low-roller for slots/table games.

Now I am trying to understand why my offers are going down, so have been going over this board trying to understand THEO and what it does in comps.

2016 stats: slot coin in 6500$, table games estimated loss around 900$ (avg bet 15-25 dollar)
2015 stats: slot coin in 6200$, table games estimated loss around 1600$(avg bet 15-25 dollar)
2014 stats: slot coin in 4000$, table games estimated loss around 500$(avg bet 15-25 dollar)

After my latest trip, my offers have degraded big-time, I used to get Excalibur offers for 3 nights, 100/100 FP/RC, also over weekends (even superbowl). A friend of mine pointed out I was way over-comped, as I come in from overseas, I usually stay longer (9-10 days) and then use two of these offers, now this year the only difference is that I have split my play over Luxor & Excalibur, can this be the cause? Or was I indeed very overcomped during the past years? What should I expect in terms of comps for my level of play? Should I go back to concentrate my play at a single resort?

    thanks for any replies,
    Greets, Gebruiker

I should start by saying that when I started looking at Luxor for a potential stay, it seems like Luxor and Excal may be kind of twinned; they have the same hosts, and I see some small other signs that for some things they may act as one unit.

But let's assume that's not true.

It depends on how you split your play.

Let's say you stay 3 nights at Luxor and 3 nights at Excal. And on a daily basis, you split your play between them. Half at each, each day of your stay. I think that your property-specific offers would be hurt, because, well, the play each sees is lower. It probably doesn't help much that they each get that reduced level of play on 6 days instead of 3.

Corporate sees all your play so it doesn't make that much difference to corporate offers.

Of course, the easiest explanation is that the floor on offers is coming up for everybody. Takes more play to get the same offers, keep the same play level, chances are your offers will get worse.

But just looking at your 2016 coin in of $6,500 on slots, let's say 10 nights, that's $650 a night with a ballpark theo of $65 a night, which is probably worth $20 max in terms of a room comp. So I'd say you were doing pretty well until now - you were getting 30% of your theo comped just in freeplay and resort credit.

One of the things Mlife does is take all your play for the "current trip." I have never figured out exactly how many days a trip is, and what happens if you go over that. With a longer stay, you surely go over what ever they use.

Another factor that might be happening is you were over comped before and they have tightened up. There seems to be some thoughts that newbies get better offers to entice them back, and once you are a regular, they get tighter. I know that has happened to me.

I have the same now. I'm also from overseas and we do one yearly vegas week. Untill the last corporate offer I got almost the same offers you had (slightly better), but now all of A sudden we only get one or two nights (limited availabilty) property specific and the corporate offer is only BOGO now with minimal RC.
Our play was higher the last time then before, but i admit we always got way better offers then the american people seemed to get.

remember also, that MGM comp's overall have dropped the last year or so do to a new cost cutting program they have implemented.

Having said that, it does likely sound like you were overcomped before.

Depending on what you are after, if you are primarily looking at free rooms I would definitely sign up for and spend a few dollars at a CET property and you probably will get offers for 2 - 3 free midweek nights and reduced weekend rates even with minimal play.
