    Which would you choose?
    I would choose either
    Free-play: $225 (I would play 9 games of 5 times $5/game)
    or
Food: $400 (For me it would be 8 oz wagyu, foie gras, side dish, nice glass of wine, and pre-dinner Macallan)

I'd take the freeplay, and maybe win the food.

If not, I'll buy the food anyway :D

Based on your taste in food, take the food credit. What kind of Wagyu?

Freeplay all day every day. JOB or Bonus Poker you can convert 95 percent of that freeplay into cash.

If you typically get back end comps, Freeplay which can be converted to more than $225.

If you are going to spend $400 on food anyway, then it is a no brainer to take the food. Say you convert the free play to around $200, you will to pay another $200 OOP.....

Definitely the food. Enjoy a nice meal!

The $225 freeplay spent on that $5 spot may end up in squat. You can always play it yourself if you want. I usually take the higher stated $ value.

    It depends.

If you are going to spend at least $225 in food either way, it is a very easy decision. If on the other hand you would just order food that you really did not care for, well... If you take the FP, and then spend $300 in food - you lost money.

The FP is worth $225 in play - which is equal to $225 in cash. No way around that.

The Food is worth... well... way more than $225.

SIDE NOTE - the free food does not get taxed, so a bit more in savings

If you convert it to cash, even at 100%, you can only buy $225 worth of food - right?

$225 worth of food is really “worth” like $50. It’s a no brainer for me.

The question is what would “I do” that’s what I’d do. Dunno why you like to argue so much dude.

I would agree that $225 in food in Vegas might be worth more like $50. But - most places expect you to pay what they charge. So, if you are going to spend $225 (or more) on food, then it is worth $225 or more (at least for the moment).

BUT - if you are someone that can do $20 meals for a few days, then FP might make more sense.

... after tax. So they can actually buy $207.85 worth of food before tax, based on an 8.25% tax rate.

OP, like NoStressHere said earlier... if you'll spend $400 on food anyway over the course of the trip, it's a no-brainer, especially because $400 of food comps is actually worth $433. Say your food charges come up to $433 exactly. You now have the option to pay $433 cash and get $225 freeplay, or get $0 in freeplay and pay $0 for your food, keeping $433 in your pocket. In the situation that you would spend this much anyway, there's no questioning this is the better value.

If your food offer is like mine (which I confirmed with my host) - it is a single use at one of the specified restaurants. So it would be one $400 meal ($80 tip at least out of pocket) for a single person. I chose the $200 freeplay instead.

I'd play with the food and eat the freeplay

$400 food That was actually a difficult decision. The dining experiences will likely last way longer than the free play.

Food. I always go through freeplay quicker even though I don't bet differently.

Food I tend to make last longer AND get more enjoyment from it!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy gambling, but I'm going to gamble anyways. With a food credit, it kills me to spend it, so I might splurge a little

Although I enjoy food, I would not pay $400 in a single meal for myself. The most I would actually pay is less than $150. The only reason I would choose the meal that I did was because the offer is for $400. One time I chose the $300 food option and used it to get a $200 glass of Louis XIII which you see in my avatar photo. And I stuffed myself with an appetizer, steak, side dish, and a glass of wine (~$120). Still a tough decision for me.
