    My Trip Report

    Good afternoon Las Vegas!!!

I have so much to share, but I am really tired -- though happy! -- and just finished jamming HARD at work on little sleep. Pulling myself together and heading to lunch at La Fontaine in a few minutes and then hopefully more winning before heading to the spa and a 90-minute massage later this afternoon.

Many more details to come but I have been super impressed with EVERY aspect of my FB experience up to this very moment. Here's the quick rundown (after a not-comfy Delta FC flight):

Driver -- Moments after I landed but while we were still taxiing, a FB driver called me to say he was waiting for me and knew my flight was running late, to just take my time and that he would be waiting for me at baggage claim. Ride from the airport to FB was lovely. The driver and I chatted a bit, but I think he knew I was really tired (it was nearing 4 am EST with flight and tarmac delays) and he had music on softly and instinctively knew I was looking for a bit more quiet. It was a little emotional driving PAST Wynn/Encore but it also felt like a new adventure.

Host -- En route to JFK, I had texted my host about making sure the free play was loaded early, as he had requested, and he said it was already done. He was off yesterday but said to definitely let him know if it was not there.

Free Play and F&B Comp -- Check in was seamless, even at after 1 am. VIP check in was closed but the person checking me confirmed the accurate amount of my Free Play AND my F&B amount. Serious kudos to my host.

Royal Suite -- I preferred the smaller Junior Suite but they were all booked this weekend. The configuration when you walk in IS a bit odd. That said, I really like it, the bed is comfy, blinds generally worked, strip view is awesome, and the table in the bedroom in front of the window (as I face Encore ironically) has been perfect for the 7 hours of work I've done today. Wifi has been good, even for 3 video conferences, though while I was on email a couple of times I got disconnected and had to reconnect, but the Wifi is good. And there's no separate charge.

VP and Getting Paid -- The first half of my free play was indeed there. I really needed to have gone to bed when I arrived but I wanted to play. I played for about an hour. My first $1k of the free play went POOF on VP -- UX and UX Bonus Streak -- so I stuck to regular UX only and on the last $250 of my free play got a $6k hand pay. PTL!!! Played more, gave some back, got a few more small handpays, etc. You'll see from the pics that two times I was missing kickers, so just missed a $12k and another $6k HP, respectively, but this was all on free play winnings so I would just smack myself when I started to complain. Even with giving some back I came back up to my room majorly ahead.

But, HOW I got paid was high tech. There's a tablet where you first complete your info and, if you want, you could indicate the tip via the tablet so when they bring you your winnings I guess the tip is subtracted. I had never seen that before but it was fascinating. I told the attendant that I tip cash and he smiled. But, get this, you can have your W2G EMAILED to you, which I did. Sure enough, it popped up in my email in seconds and after that other W2Gs can be sent immediately by email though I'm missing 2-3 more. I need to check on that.

Security -- STELLAR Security -- So I needed a wake up call as a back up to 3 alarms I had set on my phone. I basically had time for a 2-hour nap, in the comfy bed, before getting to work. My phone alarm awakened me but then I didn't get a call from the front desk as I had expected. Well, turns out I hadn't placed the phone on the hook directly after I had requested the wake up call, and as I was getting out of bed, security called me to do a security check as I didn't pick up for either the wake up or the backup wake up calls though I guess they couldn't see that my phone was off the hook. And while I speaking to security on the phone, I hear a door knock. It's two additional security guards, nicely dressed (Wynn style but with great FB uniforms) AND they seem to have a duffel bag with medical equipment in it. They were also checking on me and I have the other guy on the phone and I'm so embarrassed. They look at me seriously and basically want to make sure I'm not BSing them about being okay and I assure them that I am.

They actually APOLOGIZE for disturbing me and I said I owe YOU an apology and I tell them, with the security guy on the phone listening, that I am a loyal Wynn customer and haven't not stayed at Wynn initially for many years. I also said my first few hours here at FB have been great but THEIR work was simply the best as being a solo woman traveler safety is more important to me than anything else. Wow. Just Wow.

Coffee Shop that is a Lounge at Night -- Don't know the name of it but it's beautiful. Grabbed 2 coffees, a large Figi, a juice mixture and muffin. With tip is was more than $50 bucks but it was well, for the speed and coffee, "worth it" given how exhausted and hungry I was with no time and the service and just the beauty of the place was fabulous though I got everything to go to get ready for calls.

Housekeeping -- Not as much for her to do as I hadn't taken a shower yet, just slept in the bed, but left a nice tip (including some 2s, which she loved) and we had a nice chat. She worked at Bellagio for many years (I think she said more 14?) before coming to FB, so she knows quality and standards. I said I love the FB pens and she went out and brought me six more . . . They write OKAY but they are really heavy, in a good way, and just beautiful.

Restaurant/Spa Reservations -- Spa reservation made in less than 3 minutes by speaking with someone who also explained how to work my $250 matching gift for the spa and restaurant reservations changed my MW reservation for 4 to 1 in 2 minutes and booked me La Fountaine for 30 minutes later.

It's now 28 minutes later so I'm heading out now to La Fountaine, un-showered (TMI!) but looking okay, feeling tired and a bit surreal, but also feeling good and very impressed with FB.

    Pics to come.

Wow! What a great start at FB! And I very much agree with you on needing safety as a solo woman traveler. I always wonder what would happen if I was somehow disabled in my hotel room. Awesome customer service!

Oh man, was just overcome in La Fontaine. Holding back tears. Whew. Tired but happy and sometimes missing my mother hits me all of a sudden like a truck.

Mama Flowers would love this place too, as she loved Tableau. It is so pretty. More modern and less classic, but beautiful.

Gratz on the good start with checking in and gambling! I'll be following along to see how your visit compares to the Wynn. Especially the massage. I'll be there in a few weeks in the same type of room and I'm really looking forward to it.

Any snacks in the HL slots area?

The daytime coffee shop /night time lounge is called "Nowhere"

Great start to the trip! I'm traditionally a Palazzo/ResortsWorld player, but 1 trip to FB has me hooked as long as my subsequent stays are as good as the first and I continue to get solid marketing/host experiences. The property is fabulous.

Have you noticed that despite how large the property is, that there are people standing on many areas to give directions, answer questions, hold the door, smile/nod, etc.

I was recalling your TR and planned to venture to the HL area but as soon as I got off rhe elevators I saw a VP machine on the floor that was calling me so I played that.

Will stop in HL tonight though!

And thanks for the HL coffee reminder!

Ugh. Donked off too much winnings in the frickin' "Prosperity" slot machine.

Upside, La Fountaine was simply wonderful. Heading to the spa. Pics coming.
