I am an AC regular and a platinum with TR. Not much offers from TR except for the free rooms Sun-Thu on select dates during the summer. I was looking out for other options available that would comp better in AC. On the recommendation of @Grid, I signed up for the Tropicana rewards card. I gave Trop some play in my last trip, maybe played $25 avg bet for an hour or so.Boy, do they comp well..!! I already have free room offers in the West tower(which is not their top end tower)(Sun-Thu) and gift giveaways with the little play. I also found that Tropicana is a family destination with much more options for the family. That is a plus for me, who does not travel solo.
I gave the same level of play to Resorts AC and do not have any room/giveaway offers from them. The gift giveaways do come with a small condition in Tropicana - Need to get 1 or more promotional points on the day to redeem the gift. I thought the giveaways would have been based on your average play and not on the play that day.
This brings me to my next question. Are promotional points required to redeem the gift different from Tier/status points earned on that day?

Glad to see the Trop giving you some Love! As for the points, it differs based on your level of play. I'm a slot whore with about $10K of coin in per day. My offers for the summer are $100 in free play + the free gift. I can just show up, steal the free play and walk out with the gift. No play needed.

If you are rated lower, it might be 250 points will get you the gift. Even lower might be 500 points. So it all depends on your level of play. Sometimes Borgata opens their gifts up to everyone. Last time it was a towel. A higher player might get an offer in the mail to just pick one up. But anyone gambling that day, without an offer for the towel, can earn so many points and swipe at a kiosk and get one.
