    My Trip Report

Today is the first day of my trip, going to the airport in 30 minutes or so. This time, it is NOT Dumpy Casino Adventure time.

Staying at Mandalay Bay (Not Delano). First time at MB, as well, so I'm excited.
I got an email a month back saying I was moved to Delano, and I called the hotel yesterday to confirm my room, as the MLife website didn't update. They said that the hotel will be open, so hopefully I won't have to change rooms on Sunday.

I am mostly going to visit my friend and her family who live in Henderson. We are going to lots of places for dinner, mostly.

Reservations include Stripstreak, ChinChin, Hugo's Cellar, Gallaghers Steakhouse, Noodles @ Bellagio, and the rest are TBD!

I am trying to make Platinum this trip, which should be easy with the restaurant line up. I currently have 128,312 credits and need 31688 to make Platinum.

    Bankroll for the trip is:
$1841 in cash ($1800 plus the change in my wallet)
$21.10 in a sports ticket from my last trip I didn't have time to cash! :D
A 24 cent slot ticket from list trip also! (I'm keeping the two I have for 1 penny as a souvenir!)

My reserved room is an Elite King, with $50 in RC and $50 in FP. I'm going to try a $50 sandwich for an upgraded room, maybe a Skyview?

I'll post lots of photos, but mostly of food!

Good luck! Just came back from MB last week. It was NOT crowded at all so I think an upgrade is definitely in your future.

Arrived at the hotel! A bit of a snafu, but I'll take it in stride.

I was told on the phone that I would be at Mandalay Bay. I get to Mandalay Bay, and while checking in I'm informed that on the last day of my stay I'd be moved to Delano.

Honestly I was pretty bummed. Delano is a long walk, and I know it's technically an upgrade, but still. If I had known I'd be at Delano, I would have cancelled and rebooked at NYNY or MGM Grand. But I'm trying to treat this as a relaxing trip! It'll be my last trip before starting grad school, (full time while working full time!) so potentially the last trip for 2 years.

I did do a $50 sandwich, and I asked if I could be moved now so I wouldn't have to deal with it later. The lady, Anette, was so nice about it! She got me moved, and I asked for a scenic suite. She upgraded me to a staywell scenic suite.
Unfortunately the room isn't ready yet.

I decided to go hit the slots, and hit a bonus in the first 5 minutes. Currently up $150! I'll take that as the Mandalay Bay apology. ;)

Once I'm in the room I'll get some photos!

In the room now. Definitely a bit of a trek.

I was quite thirsty and dared to look at the minibar prices...nevermind!

Pretty decent view. Only on the 9th floor, but the bed is really comfortable!

Next up is dinner at strip steak tonight with my friend who lives here!

My god, those minibar prices are worse than the Wynn! I didn't think that was possible.

@ColoVegPlayer - if you weren’t aware, you can cut through the parking lot and get to Stripsteak & the casino pretty quickly

nice room. 9th floor still better than the 3rd floor "scenic suite" view of the parking lot I got once! thats why I have avoided Delano ever since.

    Minibar...yikes!!!

Oh that's good to know! It'll take me a bit to get my bearings, but that's a good tip. If only these places posted maps!

The minibar lol. I don’t even know what 50 ml of vodka looks like!

I love Mandalay Bay! A bit quiet but it is so spacious it can seem other-worldly. And the casino has the old clunker slot machines I like. Good luck!

Nice score! We stayed at the Delano for the first time a few weeks ago. It was really nice. That wraparound window with the mounted TV is really nice. Plus the TV in the bath is pretty cool.

Go down to the lobby, out the front Delano door. Hang a left through Valet and you will be in MB casino in no time!

Perfect! I'll use that in an hour!

Just got back to the room, walked across the street to the gas station to get snacks and drinks. 2 (big) bottles of water, 2 bottles of soda, and a bag of oreos...all for less than the cost of one pepsi at the minibar...

Got some good photos of the front entrance, I really appreciate the water features. I wish we could walk on that little rope bridge!

Gave $100 back to the casino, such is life. Of course I got 2 straight flushes when playing for 1 cent...

Cashed in the sports ticket from last trip, put it on the raiders to win tonight.

Currently taking a rest in the room and changing for Stripstreak. Friend just got off work and she is heading this way.

Its also currently raining, so I might stick to the indoor path...

    Steak and scallop time!

Writing this section from the oversized soaking tub.

So it turns out the valet/parking garage path is completely indoors, so the rain didn't matter!

Dinner was amazing! Funny story... I had a reservation under my name, for 2. The hostess says "perfect I see you here in the system!", and takes me to a table with someone already at it... It turns out this guy had the EXACT SAME NAME as me, with a reservation at the same time! We were confused then laughed it off.

They made up for the mix up by bringing us free fries! Those were so delicious. They had this truffle aioli (I think?) on the bottom.

I got the prix fixe course (shrimp, steak, cheesecake) and she got the scallops plus the cookie sundae.

    Photos: https://imgur.com/gallery/ZWz5m1O

The shrimp was AMAZING. The sauces it came with was great.

The steak was probably one of the best steaks I've had. Better than Golden Steer and the steakhouse at the mirage. Honestly I'm considering buying the steak again later this trip. The broccolinni it came with was super great, had a unique after-flavor. Was the perfect amount of crispy too. Honestly wish I had more of it! And the steak itself...omg. It had a great sauce or marinade, and was so tender. And a really large portion too! I can't talk enough about how good this steak is.

Guys, if you haven't been here, you have to try it.

The dessert was a little lackluster, I suppose. My "cheesecake" was more like a slice of cheese. That photo doesn't decieve you. Its tiny! But they use real whipped cream! I usually don't like whipped cream but this was awesome! Her cookie sundae was also just mediocre, sadly.

Overall Stripsteak is worth a visit, but maybe skip dessert.

Walked her back to her car, then I hit the casino again. Ended up down a little, but still ending my day ahead $111!

The casino is still pretty dead. One full table of 6/5 blackjack . Even the electronic dealer blackjack is 6/5.

Tomorrow I got a reservation for gordon ramsay burger for lunch, and me and her are doing ChinChin for dinner!

Woke up around 7. Went to take a shower, but the hot water wasn't working. Cold shower it was!

Went to have breakfast at Citizens, but I didn't have a reservation. The hostess made one for me on the spot, then I got seated.

I got the chocolate chip pancakes. For $19 I would have expected a bit more. They were ok, a little dry, but America at NYNY has much better chocolate chip pancakes.

    Photo: http://imgur.com/gallery/iOcWIDI

I went to go ring shopping for my friend, but everything is closed right now.

Currently at Luxor, hoping some table games are open. Its super dead at the Mandalay Bay casino, only a couple of tables open, at $10 minimums.

I also changed my lunch plans. Cancelled at GR Burger, going to try Primrose for the first time instead!

Enjoying the report. I’ve been at MB several times and stayed at Delano, but I’ve never been to MB’s front entrance. Thanks for pics. It’s odd that the pancake just had the chocolate chips on top, they’re usually made with the chocolate chips.
