    My Trip Report

First off- thanks to all of those who write trip reports. I love reading them and taking a mid-day vacation to Vegas with each of you. I didn't have the sobriety required to do a live TR, but I feel like I should give back so here's a brief summary.

    Background:
This was a solo trip with two purposes. First was some much needed R&R after a busy stretch at work. Second was to make TR Diamond status. I hear all of you groaning about gambling to obtain a status BUT- I've never made it before and dammit I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Beginning the trip I was about 3K tier credits shy.

    Travel:
Flew SWA. Got A boarding both ways thanks to diligent checking in. Flight to Vegas was no problem. Flight back was delayed about 45 min but made it home without issues.

    Room:
I got to Vegas at noon on Day 1. Cab ride to Ceasars was about $20. Going to Uber next time I think. Checked in without any problems. I asked the kind gentleman at the check in desk if there were any complimentary upgrades, but he only offered paid ones. I declined and took my booked comp Palace Tower deluxe king room. Now, this is my first time staying at CP so take this with a grain of salt. The room was good. Bed was comfortable. Keurig in room (no pods tho). There was a nice jacuzzi bath that went unused. It's a bit of a walk from the casino floor to the Palace tower, but honestly not as bad as I was expecting.

    Food:
Brioche by Guy Savoy was freaking awesome. I had a jalapeƱo bacon brioche.

Nobu: I had the "Nobu signature" tasting menu. The ambiance was excellent. I had a glass of their Nigori unfiltered sake (this is how I prefer my sakes), which was decent but not spectacular. The food was hit or miss. The sashimi, bento box, and miso were all standouts.

Bacchanal: This was a pretty excellent buffet. Everything was flavorful, unique dishes. Very good experience.

Cravings buffet (Mirage): Booked this through myVegas. Very underwhelmed. Not much flavor to the food here.

    Drink:
Successfully didn't pay for a drink the entire stay, and I'm the opposite of a good looking woman. Mostly beer, but hit the comp Glenlivet hard the first night. Bought a fine cigar from Montecristo to enjoy with the scotch.

    Gambol:
This was a rollercoaster. First of all- I did make diamond (on day one lol). My Nobu dinner was my celebration dinner. I did not visit the diamond lounge.

    VP:
CP had mostly lousy paytables. I played lots of 25c DDB with shockingly few 4OAKs. $1 JoB was so so. Thankfully I had my best luck playing $5 full pay JoB in the high limit, hitting a nice 4OAK for a few hundred dollars. I also played bartop at the race and sports bar. I had no issues getting drinks at all. My light was generally on before I finished my drink and they said they were willing to comp any drink (I chose glenlivet).

    Sports:
Bet a few horse races, probably losing around $50. I did have a $60 win on one horse which was fun. My best win of the trip was on the panthers MNF, which I had both +7 and on the money line.

Slots I did play, but apparently that was just a donation.

    Tables:
BJ was never kind to me. I played green chip 1326 progression. A few sessions net +$300 or so but far more were losses. Craps was also volatile. My biggest cash of the trip came here, +$4000 on a really nice roll by myself. But I also had 3-4 sessions of $500 losses :/

All in all I was down $2600 for the trip

2 goals were both met and I got my Vegas fix. I'd probably not want to go alone again in the near future. Fortunately my next trip will be with my best friend in Feb.

Nice trip report. Welcome to the diamond+ club. A few comments or questions:

    - did you get a chance to take in one of the free shows? FYI - if you didn't want to see a show you can get high roller tickets.
    - you had some nice meals. Was your host nice enough to comp them?
    - no resort fees (I hope)
    - definitely Uber it in the future although your $20 cab ride wasn't terrible.

    Thanks again.

It is the season of giving! :santa:
Thank you for the great report! I understand your comments regarding the Mirage buffet. I've had a similar experience there.

Thanks guys. Meyers- no I did not go to any of the free shows. Sorry for those who were hoping for a December free show list. I did not know that you could do highroller as well. I have done that a couple of times before but maybe next trip I will take my friend. Resort fees and meals were waived by my host yes thank you

Did you get your $100 Diamond dining certificate? You should get one for this year and another next year after January unless something has changed. Congrats on making Diamond.
