My husband and I went to Vegas for the first time back in late March. We stayed in New York, New York, which I would not really recommend. It's a decent hotel, but I really think it would be worth spending the extra $$ to stay somewhere else that is more convenient. We arrived late Thursday night and were absolutely exhausted from working all day/traveling/time change, so we crashed. Friday we woke up early, had a wonderful buffet breakfast and set out to explore the strip. We spent the majority of the day walking up and down Las Vegas Blvd, checking out various hotels. We were surprised that we only made it to 3 other hotels (MGM, Bellagio and Caesars) and it took up most of the day. Saturday we spent most of the morning at Paris - both walking around and playing slot machines (We aren't big gamblers). We checked out a few more hotels and spent part of the afternoon relaxing and gearing up for Saturday night. Met up with some friends, went to dinner at Treasure Island and then went to see Mystere. WOW!!! Absolutely wonderful!!!!! Highly recommended. That night we went to the Venetian, gambled for a while and then went back to Caesar's to Shadow Bar (awesome bar!!). Sunday was time to come home. Quick trip, but well worth it.
