Trip Report - Japan Robot Hotel, Manila casinos 3/13-3/22/2018

OK, I'm home. The next day will be figuring out where my ex-wife put stuff.

The plane flight home was uneventful, and much shorter. (10.5 hours vs. 14 getting there).

Once again, great meals on the plane:

When I arrived home, Les and I parted, and I thanked him for a good trip. He has Global Entry so it took him 5 minutes to clear customs. It took me a little longer, but I cleared customs quickly after the customs employee tried to get me to "admit" that I was bringing back baluts. I told her that if I wanted baluts here, I'd go to Seafood City. Anyway, my buddy from work picked me up and I shared with him the "adult" stories that I wasn't free to publish in my TR.

Got home shared presents with my ex-wife and son, and dropped her off at the train. Came home, caught up on some TV shows, and went to sleep. Had to be up at 5:30AM to cook breakfast for my son.

Thanks for the TR, it was very interesting! A ton of information that I had no clue about. I especially enjoyed the pics. Props to you for maintaining such a civil relationship with your ex-wife. Now we all will wait for that "adult" portion that you mentioned above!!

Just finished this trip report, it was great. Thanks for doing it. I had a question about clubbing there. Is it basically the same as here? Just wondered since it seemed to be an every night experience. My liver could handle that in my college days but 3 days in a row in Vegas is about my limit now haha.

Yes, it's a huge mall, with all kinds of stores and such. I went to the Fred Perry store, but seeing as I didn't want to pay $125 for a polo shirt or $50 USD for a ballcap, I just went downstairs to wait for Les.

We weren't ready for lunch just yet, and decided to wait.

Les and I ended up going back to Okada casino, the scene of my "non hand pay Friday night. I didn't have my card so I went to the Membership desk, expecting to have to pay for a replacement card, but the lady didn't charge me.

Regarding Okada casino, from the wiki:
"Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment then owned by Japanese businessman Kazuo Okada, was granted a license to operate a casino within the Entertainment City in 2008. In June 2016, the casino complex then named as Manila Bay Resorts was re-branded as Okada Manila.

This is a HUGE casino. The central fountain is called "the Fountain"

Total gaming space is 284,283.2 sq ft, which makes it equivalent to Venetian and Palazzo put together.

Sorry, as you can tell, I'm getting a little tired and sloppy with my picture taking.

I made a more detailed survey of the casino and I discovered that there were some Buffalo and Wonder 4 machines. There was an "Asian-ized" version of Buffalo Stampede called Dragon's Reign. I sat and played that, hit a bonus and broke even.

But, I was sitting waiting for Les and got "stubborn" playing an FOB machine that I HAD to see the bonus. It cost me $200 USD, but right before I was ready to give up, I got 4 Bonus symbols. I ended up retriggering several times, got 68 spins, and at $1.80 a pull, made my money back.

We then went to the food court after I was turned away from the Japanese restaurant for wearing shorts. Les had long pants and laughed, because this was similar to when Les and i were in New Orleans and he didn't wear a collared shirt to Commander's Palace and had to eat with his jacket zippered up.
So, we went to the food court.
Les had Sizzling Pepper steak and I had Special Shabu Shabu

Les insisted that I put the shrimp "eyes up".

After lunch, I got some more presents to bring home.

So, I guess I've gotta go down and convert all my pesos. Les keeps some, so I'm keeping some "clean ones" so I'm not completely penniless for the trip home.

So, I ended up getting 53, the best rate that I could see. The Remington Hotel had run out of dollars, and the recommended me across the street to Resorts World. I stopped in at the local bank (Bank of Commerce) and the offered me 53, but I had to fill out a LOT of paperwork. Still, I got over $2100 in USD for the exchange.

So, I have about 10000 in pesos left over for the remainder of the trip.

Time to take a nap. Dinner is at 7PM.
