Hi,

I love reading other trip reports so I thought I would do a short one.

We flew on SW from Albuquerque to LV on Sunday early afternoon. No problems with the flight - met some fun people in line. DH commented how upbeat and excited everyone was to be going to LV.

We had presidential limo pick us up (my surprise for DH) - got the suggestion from this board. We had a little mix up because I said to pick us up 30 min after flight arrived, we were a few minutes late but did not check luggage so we spent some time looking for the guy before he showed up (I ended up calling limo co to find out where he was) - he took us down the strip and by the downtown area (I had never seen it), then back to our hotel.

We stayed at Monte Carlo (avg rate $75 a night). Very nice hotel for the $$. Bed was very comfortable, not noisy, bathroom shower had great pressure - what more do you need? The pool area was nice but I thought it would be bigger. We wished they didn't close at 8pm. All hotel staff was very nice.

We were hungry for dinner so we walked over to MGM and ate a Grand Wok (DH wanted sushi - I had a stir fry dish). It was very good. Then we took monorail over to Bally/Paris and wandered around before the "We Will Rock You" show (another surprise for DH). We went to Barbary Coast and played some BJ then went back to Paris and got dessert at the pastry place before the show. We thoroughly enjoyed the show (got the half price tickets at goldstar) We probably could have done more that night but my feet were killing me (I picked the wrong shoes for all that walking) so we rode monorail back to MGM and went back to our hotel.

Next day: Got up and did bagels/coffee from hotel food court. We rode tram over to Bellagio (very convenient) and did art exhibit there. We then went over to Caesars and both sat down at VP. Within minutes we both hit 4 of a kind on a bonus machine - yippee! We explored around the forum shops and had late lunch at Cheesecake factory. After that we went to IP and played some BJ - I was losing so I went over to a slot machine and tripled my money (It was nickel slots so it wasn't that much). DH mananged to come out ahead on BJ. We then took monorail up to Hilton to see Star Trek experience. DH is a fan of the show and movies. We had fun there - did lose some $$ at VP before we left. Went back to hotel and relaxed at pool - ate light dinner at brew-pub - DH enjoyed the beer sampler and we watched home run derby. We took tram back over to Bellagio to see fountains (we had never seen show) - they were running every 5 minutes so we saw 4-5 of them - very nice. Went back to Cheesecake Factory for cheesecake that we didn't have at lunch - by then it was late and we were exhausted... back to the hotel.

Last day - we planned to go to Paris buffet for dinner but we were so tired and full that we blew it off. We packed up and then went down to play BJ some more - I mananged to stay even after playing about an hour - DH lost. Then back to the airport and home we went.

Impressions: I was surprised at the crowds and the number of kids out late at night. It was very hot (duh!) so I would not go back in July. We really liked the MC - good value especially since you don't spend that much time in the hotel room. We had a great time in LV and are trying to convince the neighbor friends to go back with us in Nov/Dec for a weekend trip.
