As you can see, I am still here... Day 3: I woke up with a HORRIBLE pain in my back from the bouncer trying to restrain me. I could barely move, so I took some aspirin and hoped for the best. I looked over and my sister wasn't there. She had left a note saying she wanted to see some things alone and had been gone for a few hours already! Good for her... I sat in the tub for awhile, and when I got out I saw the horrible bruise the gorilla had left on me! I started to laugh. Time to go to work at a table. I called my sister on her cell and she was at the Mandalay Bay. She sounded happy, but was at a table and had to get up to take the call. My back was feeling better, so I decided to make the walk down there. On that walk I decided basically not to take the trip to Europe. I love where I am, what I have accomplished, and my family loves it as well. Living in a new place for two weeks at a time isn't that great of an idea at his point and time in my life! I got to the MB and my sister was outside waiting for me. She was hungry, so we headed back to the Bellagio for our free food. This time, they had some sort of tofu dish and she ate plenty of that with her salad. Good for her. We had asked the chef if he knew of any Vegan restaurants in the area and he gave us some since his sister was the same way. Go figure... We finished our lunch and hit the three card tables. Same as the last time for me, up and down. I never could get anything going, but I wasn't losing. My sister on the other hand was getting everything. She started at the $10 minimum and built it up to $60. She had to straights with 40 and 50 out there which netted almost a thousand and then with the $60 she got a straight flush. That got her another $2820 I believe. She sighed and said, "now i'm back to where I was..." I did the double take and said, "WHAT???? " She was up like 2 grand yesterday. We colored her up and tipped the dealer and started to walk. I guess she contributed about $2500 to the MB craps tables in the 4 hours she was there. Ouch. I couldn't lecture her, I have done that many times. She explained to me that it was going good, but just never in her favor. She learned how to play the come bets as well, and that basically was making her lose twice as fast. As a change of pace, we decided to do the roller coasters. We hit the NYNY one, it killed my back. Speed The Ride was the best one in my opinion. Smooth is the word for that one. We went to Circus Circus and went on a few in things in there, but nothing compared to the Sahara roller coaster. Time for bed, my back was killing me. Day 4: Woke up at 7:00am and drove out to Primm so my sister could see the casinos there. The roller coaster at Buffalo Bills gave me a headache. While she played those funny nickel slots, I started up a craps table. $2 minimum, I thought I would have some fun. In 30 minutes I made a whopping $36 bucks! My sister made a few bucks as well, and after seeing the other two properties, we knew that our place to be was in Vegas. Went to this strange Vegan Mexican place for lunch. It served both types of food and I was teasing her and saying, "What if the meat ACCIDENTALLY touches your food?" she started throwing things at me. My burrito was actually really good! The whole bill came to $33 bucks and that was with tip and drinks! For the life of me, I can't remember what this place was called, just remember that it was like 5 minutes away from the Sahara. After the food, we went back to the Bellagio to try to get some more of their money! My sister played three card and I started on craps. I cashed in for $300 and lost $100 in like 10 minutes. It was my turn. I put $10 on the pass and established the 8. Full odds, $24 on the 8, $25 5, and 9. I hit the 5 twice, pressed it to $50 hit it again and took all the $$ form the other numbers and pumped the 5. Hit it again twice before rolling the 7. Went up a few hundred more on that roll, it was cool. The dealer gave me crap about stacking the 5, but he smiled after I rolled what I needed to! I wandered over to my sisters table and she was laughing, sipping her Vodka and Pineapple, and joking with the dealer. I looked in front of her and she had a stack of hundred dollar chips. I asked the her what she bought in for and she said, "$50 bucks." I gues she had hit a 3 fours for $600 and some other stuff along the way. I told her not to play craps anymore, this was her game. She was talking to the pitboss, just like I told her to do for her comps. I sat down and tried a hand. She told me to put $100 all the way down and she would do the same. My sister, DARING ME???? Gotta do it! I got my cards, two aces. The worst I could do was lose $100 bucks. My sister looked at her first card. It was an ace. She would have to play that anyways so she doesn't look at the rest and is suprised. Dealer flips his cards, A, 4, 7. I win $300, my sister could lose $300! The dealer says, "something good here, I turn them slow..." Her first card was an ace of hearts, her second was a queen of hearts, and her third card???? The king of hearts.... Since I sat down, I pushed the straight flush to her and not the old guy in the middle. $4700 more for her, wow! We tipped the dealer and went to the cage to cash in and went up to the room. We had three hours until we had to be at the airport, so we just relaxed. Sis called down to the spa to see if there were any openings for treatments. She went down and I made sure she was only taking the room number to charge it... I called my wife, told her that I was going to stay an extra night and try to get a suite since it was Sunday night. I then told her that I had decided that I didn't want to go to Europe for work. She sighed and agreed with me, I guess she didn't want to go either! Well, after talking to my wife for an hour and a half, my sister walked in and informed me she was staying another night! How funny... Called SW, changed the plans to Monday evening and called my host to see about a suite. Not a problem for a Penthouse suite on the 35th floor. We packed our stuff and moved up there. WOW 1500 square feet, his and hers showers and not to mention the view. $650 a night on the weekdays was what it was going for, and I had to sleep on the couch! Ate at the Mexican place again for dinner, just as good again! After dinner, we went back up to the room to see exactly how much we had won. I counted me money and I was was up around $2100. She counted hers and she was up almost $8000 dollars. Not bad for her first real gambling trip. We decided to go and see a movie, "Mr. Deeds" with Adam Sandler. I am a HUGE Sandler fan, but this one didn't quite do it for me. All the gang was in the movie, that was pretty cool. After the movie, we went to bed and actually slept well... Day 5: We woke up at 11:00am, a first for me in Vegas. Our flight was at 7 pm, which means we have 5 hours left. Ate breakfast/lunch, gambled for a few hours, I lost about $200 and she won another $500, go figure... Alamo return was smooth, flight was delayed A fun trip overall, even with the problem at the Venetian. Thanks for hearing me ramble...
Sounds like you had a great time, I hope I have 1/2 the luck you sister did. Makes me wish I was there now...Only 12 days to go. Thanks for the TR
Excellent trip report. Since your sister did so well, have you guys booked your next trip to Vegas yet? I prefer to play only blackjack. Just keep the Bailey's on the rocks coming. The only problem with that is the ease at which you can get dehydrated. So I guess I'll have to grab a water every now and then. T-73 days.
