  1. If you recall I did a trip report about our trip the beginning of October. We stayed at Venetian 3 nights which were very nice and 1 night at Manadlay Bay which was not so nice. Anyway, at Venetian we had construction and a few problems and at the time I went and talked with a manager and she comped us a night. We had a room with the construction noise that had us up between 5 and 5:30 every morning. Mandalay Bay although casino is quite pleasant and attractive, the hotel check in lady was extremely rude, staff everywhere in the hotel other than Shark Reef Tank just seemed to be bitter and rude and the walls were paper thin in the room. Well when we came home I wrote a letter to the Vice President of Hotel Operations at Manadaly Bay. Still have heard nothing in return. But today I got a letter from Venetian (I never sent a letter to them as overall we were quite pleased with the hotel and our stay), my letter came from Peter who is the Vice President of Hotel Operations at The Venetian. He said that he was informed of our recent trip and the noise and that he wanted to assure me that this was not the general experience at Venetian and would like to show us and then he sent me a certificate for 2 free nights to use anytime in the next year!!!! I was floored by that, talk about customer service. And it just goes to show what I thought of Mandalay Bay all along, not to keen on customer service. Only problem is we are now expecting a baby in June and as much as I would love to go back, I do not want to go there and be around all that cigarette smoke and more than likely would not ever take a newborn to Vegas either. I even had a dream tonight that we were leaving our room and going to Paris breakfast buffet, heehee. We shall see what plays out though. Just wanted to share my experience with you all.

Is it possible that you accidentally sent your letter to the Venetian? :D

Two free nights at the V! How cool is that?!

I agree with you on the smoke...my wife never went to LV while she was pregnant, and thought of newborn lungs breathing casino air makes me shudder....that's the first thing I think of when I see babies in strollers at casinos.

Congratulations on the forthcoming bundle of joy!

Nice story, Val. I hope you figure out a way to use those 2 free nights! But I agree, don't bring the baby.

I am happy that you have concerns about the smoke; it says lots about you! Good luck!
