    My Trip Report

Well here it goes. This will be the 5th time we have been there however first time we have been there on a weekend.

We left Cleveland about 9:20 AM EST time and arrived in Vegas about 10:30 AM PST. Headed over to get our luggage and ot it rather quickly.Went over to the airport hotel check in for the Flamingo. LOVED THIS!! Took about 5 minutes and I was checked in and had my room key...and it was only about 10:45 AM.

We then headed to the shuttle bus which I got with the package deal I bought. Last time I do that. We stood out in the 100 degree hear for over 40 minutes and no shuttle bus came. It was at that point I was so hungry and hot I asked if everyone just wanted to grab a cab. Everyone agreed. No sooner we walked away th friggin' shuttle bus pulls up. As we are walking to get a cab, this woman walks by me and she looked familiar. Then I look next to her at the guy and I realize its Vince Neil from Motley Crue. He didnt look to with it so I wasnt even going to bother him let alone the airport was massively crowded.

Got to the hotel and walked by the HUGE check in line and went straight to our room. I am telling you guys...if you can check in at the airport. That line at the hotel had to be a 2 hour wait. Our room was nice. We were on the 16th floor overlooking the pool. The room was one of the renovated rooms so I was happy with it. Clean and air worked like a champ.

Flamingo is not my first choice for a hotel. However we were meeting others who booked their room there so we felt it would be easier. Although I did like the hotel, I thought the casino sucked. Too small, not enough tables, too smoky...and I smoke.

For those into football, be sure to check out the Sinbad bar at the Aladdin. During all college and NFL games, bottled beers are only $2. They had 6-7 NFL games on when we were there. Another good place to go is the Tequila Bar in Bally's. For happy hour(4-6) you can either get a margarita or a beer & a tequila shot for $3.50. Excellent margaritas and their food is awesome. They have mostly appetizers but hte portions are gigantic and was reasonanly priced(under $10). We went there 2 nights for happy hour. I suggest getting there about 4 as by 4:30-5:00 they do get busy and its a small place.

We ate at Bellagio Buffet Friday night. Awesome as always. The desserts are to die for. GREAT mussels too. Also hit Spice Market Buffet. If it wasnt for thr 10 minute wait in the seafood line I would have sat and ate their crab legs all night. We were there right at 4:00 too and they were busy. Great buffet as well just wish it wasnt so dang crowded. For the other two nights we ate cheap. We just went to Cheeseburger at The Oasis in the Aladddin as we were all dying for a burger and then one night we just at at the Tequila Bar in Ballys.

All in all an excellent trip. Hopefully go back next year only this time not on a weekend. Way too crowded.

Glad that you had a good time. I was actually wondering about the checkin at the airport for the Flamingo. My hubby and I are thinking of staying there next year. I was checking out flights from my area (upstate NY) and we would be getting into Vegas around 10:40am and wondered if we could get into our room at that time or would we have to wait. However, your trip report stated that you were able to get in right away. Again, thanks for the info.

Thanks for the tip about the happy hour at Bally's Tequila bar. Someone asked a while ago about happy hour specials, kinda redundant in vegas (it's ALWAYS happy hour) but still good info for the Frugal Boozer.

That check-in line at the Flaming-O can be a nightmare. Last two trips, my friends were nice enough to tell me about their hour and a half wait. (Sometimes later flights are convenient!)Nice to hear that you were able to check-in at such an early time with the airport check-in. Most important info to know especially when we land about 11:30.

Flaming-O casino being smoky...I wholeheartedly agree with you on this one and I smoke as well I might add. It just gets too overwhelming in there. Let's get some air moving in there people!

Nice to hear you had a good time. I'm getting closer every day.
