Given your willingness to get around and enjoy places that aren't the Disneyland of gambling, it sounds like less time on Strip and downtown is probably a better bet for you. Have you tried some places like the M and South Point that are off Strip with fair gambling rules and reasonable limits, but are nicer than Jerry's Nugget?

Yes, we do go to South Point a few times during our trips. We haven't made it to M yet, but will likely check it out next trip. We haven't made it to any Station Casinos yet, but plan to during the next trip. We also didn't make it to Arizona Charlie's or Railroad Pass (which we drove by on the way to Laughlin). We keep our mLife status up because my wife likes the nice rooms and the tubs. She can play slots anywhere. I like to go somewhere and play craps for cheap. Could I afford to have a 1K per day gambling budget? Probably, but I can have as much fun taking less and playing $5 tables.

Hoping to find even more locals places during our next trip.

I completely understand your point of view. I don't drink much (maybe one drink a day) so I don't get much out of the free alcohol. But there is so much food and places to explore (seriously people, get off the strip go to Masters Donuts and thank me later) and to hit the places that locals go that I'll likely keep going back. I just want to be treated right and not pay for the privilege to do things. We do like Plaza, but haven't stayed there. I was there on a Friday morning and craps was $15. I say "AH HEEEEEELLLL NAH" and walked away. IMHO, $15 is too much for DT. You want to charge $15 at Circa because it's a premium property, fine. But don't tell me that GG is worth $15. It's not. Love to play there, but it's not.

I really appreciate what Jerry's (Family owned) and Ellis Island (Family owned) are providing compared to the mega corporations that dominate LV. I'll gladly go there and give them my money. Ellis Island's BBQ is top notch for me. About as fancy as I want to get.

Thanks for the detailed TR. After 15 trips downtown, I’m looking forward to branching out a little, like Jerry’s Nugget & Ellis Island. (Yes I like lower table minimums).

LV16. 1st Strip stay, then to the Golden Gate "Deluxe" for 2 nights.
