Trip Report - 6/16 - 6/20

Flight - Direct flight from Cleveland, Ohio to Vegas with Continental. On time both ways. They actually gave us some food. Pleasant experience.

Hotel - Stayed at the Flamingo. - Had 2 of the nights comped. Staff at the Flamingo were very friendly. The "free" room wasn't anything special. During check-in I was offered an upgrade for $50 a night.

Gambling - I played slots. (penny, nickels, quarters, and dollars)
My best hit was at the Palazo. On a 2 coin dollar machine- Triple Stars - I hit for $360 on my first pull on that machine.
My wife and I spent a lot of time gambling at Bill's. We had a good time on two machines. (Jungle Wild & Goldfish)

Shows - We saw Jersey Boys at the Palazo. We went to the Sahara to see the Coasters, the Platters, and the Marvelettes. Both shows were great.

Food - We had the buffet at Planet Hollywood. Excellent food and service.
We were happy at the Sahara. I signed up for a player card. We got the buffet for $6.50. Not a great variety but two dinners for $15 in Vegas is a good deal.

Drink service - We were never thirsty.

Pool - The pool at the Flamingo is great. We had no trouble getting lounge seats. Cold Fosters by the pool were good. Music played at the pool was perfect. Mainly pop songs from the 70's & 80's.

Complaints. (1) Big Elvis was not there that week.
(2) We went to the Rio only to find out that the Carnival Sky show is only shown on Thursday to Sunday.
(3) No more free views of White Tigers at The Mirage.

Concern - How much will the airfare cost to go next year?

Weather - Perfect!
Random thoughts - The Mirage is a great looking Casino. The Palazo isn't
as elegant as the Venetian. You gotta love the $1
Michelobs and margaritas at Casino Royale.

I enjoyed your succinct TR. My favorite part is your quote at the end. I"m hoping to say that myself in a couple weeks!

We love the Flamingo pool, too. In fact, on one of our trips last summer, we stayed at PHo but also took advantage of two comped nights at the Flamingo just so we could use the pool. We never slept there but just took a separate beach bag with our suits, checked in, used the pool, and checked out the next day. It was great!

I agree with your assessment of the Mirage and I thought the Palazo was just okay. My wife loves the Goldfish game; you seem to be able to play for hours on it.
