    My Trip Report

We left Iowa on Allegiant 1:30 and arrived LV 2:30. Had our driver that we have every year pick us up Darral 35.00 to the strip. He has an SUV, very friendly and beats waiting in line for a taxi.

Checked in at Harrahs on comped rooms for the 5 nights, we didn't try the $20 trick but mentioned if they had better rooms we would like them and she said there were none available so did not push it. She said they were revamped but when we got to them I didn't see much revamped. We were in 1552 in the Mardi Gras tower. They were close to the casino and that is what I wanted.

The highlight of the trip was our first night. We went to the Palms to see REO Speedwagon and Def Leppard. It was FABULOUS, all I can say is that if anyone has a chance to see a concert there it is well worth the money. We were about 50 feet from the stage, it is like you are on MTV unplugged like your own personal concert. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house as it holds 2000. REO was great, Def Leppard was extremely LOUD, therefore about 3 songs in I got a full blown migrane and the lights were piercing. Still worth it though. I think it was due to the drinking. A bit of advice for a concert there is... have a car or someone waiting for you at the finish as there were literally hundreds of people waiting for taxis. We did get 2 free tickets before were entered the concert from this guy to go to any of the hotels bars after concert for free. Since I had the migrane we did not go. It would have been fun.

Saturday: We pretty much hung out on Freemont, hit a couple hundred each about 3 times so that day we just spent our budget for the day and played on their money.

Sunday: We got up and headed to the Peppermill and waited for my brother that lives in LV to meet up with us. Had a couple bloody marys and breakfast it was good. I think they need a little more vodka in the bloody marys though. We then headed to the Sahara to watch Nascar, it was fun just not real eventfull. Something we have always wanted to do now we have done it probably won't do it again. Headed back to the strip, freshened up and gambled some more. Had a couple 200 hits again, back by the keno bar there are a couple Little Nicki machines, pennies mind you that were paying like crazy, one guy cashed out at 850.00. Who knew pennies payed like that? Another lady playing a machine behind me on a penny cashed out at 1000.00. I cashed at 300.00 and played again and got another 150.00. Still all and all if you can sit at a machine and play for hours and still walk with some flip its a good day. We went to IP that night saw the Elvis dealertainer he was ok. Played 100 with him but lost.

Monday: We pretty much played on the strip, went to see Fat Elvis at Bills, they only give draft beer for the free drinks when you are playing so we didn't stay long. I drink Tanquray and Tonic and if you want that you have to pay for it. They do have the Bud Light in the Aluminum cans for 2.50 and other places it is $4-$5. We donated a few hundred there as well as Harrahs that morning. Took a break and freshened up gambled some more but headed to bed early as that was not a winning day for us.

Tuesday: This was a fun day. We headed up to MGM and NYNY to do some shopping. Took the free ride to Mandalay it was fun no wins though. Went back to the MGM and started in on the Long Island Ice Teas they are really good there if you ask for a poured one they are $10.00 but after about 3 you are lit for the day. (They like to charge you 17.00 for each but I always get them for 10 it just takes a little talking and smoozing). Headed back to the Harrahs freshened up and played some more but no big wins, seems like the machines that were playing when we got there were no longer hitting. Went to bed.

Wednesday: Had Darral pick us up again to take us to airport had to be there at 6:00 am. We went to outside check in it was very quick tipped 5 bucks and got the exit rows. Hubby is real tall and was worth the tip.

Can't wait to go back. Wanted to go to the Seafood Buffet at Rio but didn't make it. Wanted to win more money... but didn't .... oh well maybe next time.

Sounds like a great trip! I would love to see REO Speedwagon and Def Leppard! Were they in Vegas for only a few nights?

Nice wins. Too bad about the migrane; one of those can really screw up a trip and make the whole vacation bad. Vegas always leaves you wanting more.
