Trips to Las Vegas
2
Stayed at the Tropicana, Island Tower Rooms.

Day 1:
Left home to go to Albany, NY (3 hour drive). Arrived at 4am in Albany. Went through security and was asked to step aside. I got the wand and had to undo my belt on my pants. It was kind of weird. Flight from Albany to Cincinnati uneventful. Flight from Cincinnati to Las Vegas we sat 2 rows from the back of the plane. I haven't flown in over 22 years and I thought it was quite bumpy and forgot how many times your ears pop. Had a lot of turbulence but I wasn't worried, I was going to Vegas for the first time!

Arrived at Tropicana, no waiting in line went to our room in the Island Tower. Nice rooms and was told there would be a hair dryer in the room but there wasn't - thank goodness I was smart to bring mine.

Went with golf fanatic and her husband and my hubby and down to start some gambling. Well, that wasn't a pleasure. It seemed whatever I played the machines sucked it up and didn't even say thank you. LOL

Headed off to MGM Buffet. Thought it was very good. Went to Excalibur and NYNY but didn't gamble. Went back to the Tropicana and sat in the celebration lounge listening to an act of Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. It was a good act too. Played a slot machine and lost. Lost my gambling money for the day but it was a fun first day in Vegas.

VegasKathy:
I was there at the same time but left monday. We flew Manchester NH to Nashville. We were late cause our plane originating in Albany encountered such headwinds which delayed us 30 minutes getting to LV but you can't complain about that.
Also sat in the back in the last regular seats that didn't recline; that kinda sucked. Not real bumpy but very windy and a rollercoaster landing.
Shuttle to Tropicana and also a free upgrade to the Island Towers on the 6th floor. We did have a hair dryer but I don't have enough hair to need one and my daughter brought her own. Did most of my slot play here cause I was waiting for my daughter. When staying up strip I enjoy Slots A Lot.
We did the Tropicana Buffet the first morning cause I had 2For1 Certificates but ate breakfast at the San Remo the next two days.

Yeah in my next segments of the trip report - which I'll probably do later because I'm at work right now, LOL, I will mention San Remo's breakfast. We went there everyday. I thought their breakfast was good and reasonable. The slots just were not good to any of us at Tropicana.

Hair dryers are funny things! When we stayed in the pyramid at Luxor, I brough my hair dryer because the hotel website says the pyramid rooms don't have them. But they did.

Other than the slot machines at Trop, sounds like you and others have had decent rooms & overall good experiences--that's great!

Yes, I like the layout of the Trop and the entertainment that was there. The gambling was the only thing that wasn't fun really. But then again I wasn't expecting to come home with a hand full of money, LOL.
