I should have posted this a while ago, but never got to it.

First time for me and my husband in 25 years...we'd both been there before we were married during trips from east to west.

We stayed at Caesars. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the changes in Las Vegas, and it took us a day and a half to get used to the city. It really freaked me out and I am not easily freaked. Anyway, Caesars is nice and the shops are incredible, but I want to know who has all the money to shop at those stores?

By the second night we were feeling the groove, and went across the street to the Flamingo. My husband went to a table, and I played the slots. When we finally met up, he told me he had won $1500 with four tens. Whoo hoo. We go to Atlantic City a few times a year and he never wins so we were really psyched. So we liked the Flamingo a lot.

The next night we had tickets to see Kenny Rogers at the Hilton, and enjoyed him very much...afterward my husband plays let it ride again and wins $1000 with four Aces. It was incredible. He got a yellow chip, which I never knew existed. Too funny.

We went downtown, and I liked it there a lot. I love the Golden Nugget, we ate at the Italian restaurant there and it was absolutely delicious. I recommend it to anyone. Fine dining and worth every penny.

I really enjoyed Fitzgeralds and Binions...it was the night before St. Patricks day so it was a whole lot of fun. Won some, lost some...but the stakes were low and we had money so who cared?!

Vegas is one unbelievable city...I'm still shaking my head over it all. I'm afraid if we go back someone will have to stamp "Going to Hell" on my forehead because it truly is the city of excess. But it's fun.

So glad to hear that you had such a good trip. My husband and I love downtown too. We always stay the Golden Nugget. Maybe someday we will stay on the strip. It's good to hear from a winner!!!

Maybe that's why we all love Vegas so much. A little devil comes out in all of us. :D

It's nice to read when someone wins in Vegas. Wow - a yellow chip. At the Tropicana where I play mostly blackjack, the highest chip denomination I'm aware of is a pink ($500) chip. I think it's more of a light purple but I'm color blind.

It was funny because when my husband won the second time, he thought he was being ripped off because he won less at the Hilton than the Flamingo. Evidentially, each casino has its own payout on four of a kind. The Flamingo paid more...so if you're going to get four of a kind, do it at the Flamingo. ;) However the Hilton did send us a card to go back there for a few nights for free.

We did so much--I loved the Elvis-A-Rama museum, and the magician at Harrah's--we got free tix from some guy on the street--I think we were supposed to sit through something, but he was from back east and just gave them to us. We walked and walked and saw almost every casino, and ate and ate. Quite an amazing time... elmridge you are so right...it does bring out the devil in me.

The constant eating is the reason my husband and I like to walk around and look at the casinos so much--we figure the exercise from the walking balances out part of the eating and the drinking. Or so we tell ourselves ;)

It is unbelievable how much you walk in Las Vegas. I brought a pedometer with me on my last trip and I was walking about 15 miles a day, and we had a rental car. Did you know that walking from a room in Bellagio to the entrance of Flamingo is more than a mile? It's 1.12 to be exact. I thought that 11 days in Vegas and eating rich food would add at least 10 pounds of fat to my body, but I only added 3. All the walking must have burned most of it off.
