Well since this is my first trip report, I hope you will all forgive me if I do this wrong. We were supposed to leave for Vegas on 2/11 but since mother nature decided to book a blizzard for Boston on 2/12 they closed the airport the DAY BEFORE the blizzard. I will never understand that concept!!! So we got bumped to the next day, had to cancel hotel rooms and car rental and move all back one day. We got about 21 inches of snow and had the pleasure of now having to drive through the blizzard to fly out of Boston, since the airport was open During the stupid blizzard...........Who decides these things????
Well once we got on the plane, and once they found us a pilot.......which is another whole story........off we went to Vegas, leaving 2 hours late, but who cared, we were just happy to be in the air. We arrived in the wee hours of the morning, 1:30 AM Vegas time, which is 4:30 AM our time, and proceed to dollar to get the rental car. Upgrade to mid size car, as all the economy cars are gone, that was fine with us. Arrived at Palace Station, booked for a garden court room at 19.00 a night, free upgrade to tower room, which was fabulous!!!! Beautiful room, facing red rock canyon, very very nice. Bed was super comfortable.
Of course, hubby and I are dead tired, but have to hit the casino, as we did not fly all the way to vegas to sleep. Had no luck at all at Palace Station but did find some terrific bartenders. Played for a few hours, hit the cafe for breakfast and then hit the beds for the night (morning).
The next day we jumped in the car to hit all the locals casinos (that was our goal for the trip) and stated on Decatur with Texas Station, where I proceeded to hit 9 out of 9 on a nickle keno machine for $1000.00 nice start to the day, changed the machine over to quarters and hit 6 out of 6 twice for 400.00 each time. Hubby then began to hit 6/6 for another 800 bucks. Nice day all in all. Our game of choice is video keno, which I know people say is like playing a slot and it probably is, but we do very very well on them, just ask the IRS.
We then proceeded on to the Fiesta casino next door, ate at the buffet with a 241 coupon, then onto sunset station casino, but did nothing at either place. Ended the night back at Palace station with our friends the bartenders.
The rest of the week was spent touring various local casinos, touring the red rock canyon, driving around Lake Mead, and staying at Sam's Town for our 2 free nights offer. The room at Sam's town was very nice, but not as oppulent as the One at Palace Station. We had a great time, and then back to the airport.,,,,,,,,
Of course, our flight out was booked for Midnight, due to extreme headwinds, all flights going east were pushed back, we had to wait over 2 hours for our flight to leave, which was kind of lousy, but the gate beside us was a NYC flight which was delayed for over 4 hours. For our trouble, the airline was nice enough to serve us some crackers and soda...........wow what a deal. I am not sure I will book another trip in February, weather is just too volitile, and there is nothing you or the airlines can do about it.
I would love to hear from others who play video keno. I also play video poker, mostly deuces wild.
