Ok for all you "Fit-Bit'ers" out there how far do you walk in Vegas?
I just received my weekly stats from my trip last week.
    Mon-Fri (including Airports) I did 83,729 Steps / 38.86 Miles.
My best day was last Thursday with 21,668 Steps.

I don't fitbit, but iphones will track your steps anyway, and they usually have me between 12000-20000 in a vegas day.

I used to use an old step-counting pedometer when I did conferences and trade shows and such. I could easily rack up 5-7 miles per day.

One thing I remember is that the total number of steps from my room in the Sahara to the Monorail, catercorner at MGM, tram to Mandalay, and the walk to the conference center, came out to just over a mile in steps.

Just the health app that comes with iphone.

Probably less accurate than a fitbit, but what level of precision do you really need?

My wife has a Fitbit. She also has short legs. Sitting at the BHB on the taller stools she can't touch the rail for support nor the stool crossings. So her legs dangle. And when she gets a good hand or has a good hand to draw to, her legs will wrangle.
She has walked many a step playing VP at that bar!!

At home on a work day I average between 15,000 and 20,000
In Vegas I usually end up over 30,000
Last trip my record was 73,000 when we did some hiking in Red Rock plus strip walking.
My fitbit resets every day at midnight which I wish I could change.

I measure it by how many motrin and acetaminophen I need to reduce the swelling and alleviate the pain.

Three of each usually does it, but I may need an additional acetaminophen on a "bad" day. :D

Having a variety of technologies to track this, I'm not really sure which one is over-exaggerating, but none of this is about a medal-awarding sport so keep those steps up and every day you walk at least one more step is another day going the right direction. It is pretty easy to log a golf course-worth of mileage just doing normal tourist activities in Vegas.

I went 15 miles once at Bandon playing 36 and then adding the 13-hole short course before dinner. My caddie walked/trotted a LOT farther. lol

It’s about 150 steps from my room at MSS to the BHB. So I average 300 steps a day.
Might be a few more since it’s not quite as straight a line on the way back.

A slow day in Vegas for me is 25,000 steps. My recent trip I was solo and attending a conference. I was getting between 26,000 and 29,000 steps per day. I was surprised I didn't make it over 30,000 each day.

Two years ago my wife and I were averaging 36,000 or so steps per day. The best day was 41,000.

A normal day at home I get 12,000 to 15,000 steps per day during work days (most of it is after work). On weekends I'll get 15,000 to 20,000 per day.

I'm not sure how I've gained so much weight this year. (I actually do know... I eat too much crap, but with how active I am it is somewhat surprising).

My wife's employer provided her office Fitbits a couple years ago, as part of a wellness-program. They had to report their numbers as part of a contest. My wife used to give it to my son when she got home from work to shake while he watched TV... she got a lotta extra steps in that way!

I know someone who had the same thing at work. He started shaking it at home to rack up steps after two years they stopped the program, he still constantly shakes his Fitbit

I've got a FitBit and I seem to average about 15000 - 20000 steps per day in Vegas.

My favorite FitBit moment on my July trip was around 3am, when I got my notification I had met my 10000 step goal for the day. I looked at my FitBit to see why it was alerting me, and narrowly missed stepping in a puddle of vomit. FitBits are dangerous walking LVB after 3am. :haha:

As an aside to you who have fitbits. How accurate do you believe they are?
I am asking, because I usually do 3 miles/per day at the gym, yet my fit bit gives me "credit" for around 2.

As for total steps I average 10-12K per day. In my last Vegas trip I hit 20-25K.

I used to wear my Fitbit religiously and would swear it was pretty accurate. It's been a while since I set one up, but I'm pretty certain you calibrate it based on the length of your stride.

We did one year and I think the symbols on it turned to a skull and cross bones at least 1 day. We've done the equivalent to over 10 miles in a day easy many times over. Now we just determine how much we've walked by how bad our feet feel as we crash.
