    My Trip Report

    My first Trip report.
First off, thanks for the great posts on this site. It gave me some great tips and useful information when planning.
We were booked from Albany to Philly, then on to Vegas. Of course our flight to Philly was canced on US Air. US Air got us on a Delta flight to Atlanta, then to Vegas. We had to go South, then go West. Not a good start. We were supposed to be in around 2:30 PM Vegas time but didn't get in until 5:30 pm with the reroute. That could have been worse. We( my girlfiend and I were wiped out)
We checked in at the airport ( which I loved ). I had my room key before our bags got there.
I gamble at Atlantic City ( The Borgata ) I was able to use my Comp Dollars through MGMGrand/Mirage Vacataions. So we Just charged everything we could to the room and the Comp dollars were deducted from the total. I got two nights comped and $ 109 for the other two nights. I upgraded for a Bungalow suite for an extra $ 50 a day. It was obvious the $ 20 trick wasn't going to work:) wasn't even an option :-(
The room was nice and spacious. Nice bathroom, lots of marble floor, dual sinks( a biggie with my girlfriend ). View wasn't great. Asked for a strip view and what I got was a view of the Trashy Castle and NYNY. Also had a nice view of the roof of MGM:). We were on the 8th floor. It could have been worse.
From a posting on this site we also ate at the new Tappas/French place ( not sure on spelling) La'uthier?. Exellent but pricey. It was against my comp Dollars so what the hell. It really was good. The manager/Chef came over and shook our hands and wished us well.Nice touch. No waiting either. Just walked up and got seated right away. The bill for two of us and 4 glasses of wine was $ 185 without tip. We didn't get the tasting menu
We had breakfast at the Studio Cafe. No line but pricey. My girlfiend forgot some basic stuff so we went to Fashion show mall. I went to Wynn. I liked the Wynn a lot. I won $1000 on a slot there, so, I love the Wynn now!!!. I met up with my girfriend and we caught the shuttle from Wynn to the Monorail.
Note-If you take the Monorail from the MGM to Wynn get off at the Convention center stop. The signage on the Monorail was incorrect. It said to get off at Harra's- IP for Wynn. You have to walk quite a bit to get to Wynn from there.
We also saw KA at the MGMGrand. The sets, scenery and production design are just as much a star as the performers. She loved it. I liked it, I think "O" was more of a wow factor. Regardless, it was great theater.
We ate at Wolfgang Pucks before the show and it was OK. Nothing great and had to wait a long time for the check.I wish I had gotten a pizza instead of the Organic chicken I ordered.Live and learn.
Next day, while my girlfriend went to the pool, I played roulette and won $600.( $25 minimum single zero ) It is a good thing to take MGM's money insted of make a contribution!!
Went to Fiamma for dinner. Very nice. We liked it a lot.I had veal and she had Raviolli.
We found some $5 blackjack tables and my girlfriend had never played. So we tried it and the dealer was very funny and helpful. He really made a difference. He also gave her some nods or head shakes on basic strategy of when to hit or stay. Very funny time. Must say the dealers were friendly and in good spirits, not grumpy and pulling for you. Not unlike some of the casino's in AC( hope you read this Mr. Trump).
We also went to the top of the Eiffel Tower to see the Bellagio fountains from up there. Fantastic view of the fountains up there. Very crowded but worth it.
I forget a lot of details during the trip, but our last night We had dinner at Shibuya- very nice Japanese. I had a $28 bottle of Sake!!! It was recommended by the waitress. She didn't tell me the price:) It was good I liked it. We then went to the top of the Rio after seeing the Trip report of the S&M crew!! I reembered to print the internet coupon for free admission. The view was fantastic. Cab Fair was $10 from MGM. Saw the Carnival show in the Rio and it was fun too. Back to the MGM and went into Tabu and had some drinks. It was fun. Lots of women dancing on the table. Then went to Studio 54 and no charge for admission for MGM guests. It was better than I thought it would be. Had a good time. Went back to Tabu for a night cap. Got a little sloshed in there. Went to bed and almost missed our flight home.
I wish I had missed our flight home as our flight from Philly to Albany was canceled again!!!! They put us up in a Holiday Inn. They were going to charge us, but we complained and the supervisor said it was free. It was canceled because of no crew!!
All in all it was great in Vegas, Liked the MGM, Wynn, the dealers and the food, just wish the travel days could have been better.

    thx sticky

Thanks sticky. There is an old bumper sticker that goes,Dance like no one is watching.Well... I know I was feeling no pain/sloshed/bombed/just having fun...when you guessed it.. I was dancing like no one was watching. I think the Grey Goose Martini's Straight up, Dirty had something to do with it:)
Tabu and Studio 54 were a lot of fun. Didn't get the free drinks though-LOL I just paid for them over and over again.
